Dont worry about the lumber puncture, not as scarey as it sounds ok Hygiene is the best way to prevent any further contamination. Get the place nice and clean, clean benches, dishes, wash towels, bedding etc. NO kissing, cough and sneeze into handkerchiefs, that kind of thing.

Fingers crossed they have got it wrong. But if it is, praying that it is not an infectious type.x.
  3. I would still get her to a bone man if you can. Anti infam's and rest is the standard treatment from most vets, as they are not normally specialised in running dogs. The 'soft tissue damage' diagnosed by the vets will not be the reason for the stiffness she has had for a while in the back legs.
  4. Do you know what type/breed they are? What shape/size are their combs? If they all look exactly the same (comb/wattle wise) and one is crowing sounds like you have all cocks. Although rarely you can get hens which take over the cocks role so to speak and can start to crow
  5. Throw away society now Wilf, in more ways than one.
  6. Do you remember SnatchFLCC who used to be on here Moll?.....he ummed and arrhed about that white bitch and missed his chance, he will be gutted when he sees what a cracker she is turning out I never miss the chance to tell him how nice she is Coursing man if i remember right, not like you to tease for the rest of his life That bitch has some length of back, bet she is a flying machine
  7. It does happen, perhaps due to the food or where the food is in the gut at the time. Not worth the risk imo, just feed your dog after all exercised is finished for the day, then there will be no risk at all
  8. The thing with lurchers/whippets etc Sandy is...when you take them out for a walk, they tend to do the 'wall of death' at some stage, playing and running as hard as they do when chasing, this is enough to cause torsion with food in the gut. I have heard it happen so many times with pet lurchers.
  9. You will always spend more than you can make with chickens. If you do it properly, you have the cost of feed, (you cant buy in enough bulk to make it economical as it has a use by date) Bedding, ACV or vits you might want to use. AB's if/when needed. The prices of coops you will never get back. They are really more of a hobby than a source of income, even when selling stock and eggs.
  10. Never a good idea to promote this type of trickle feeding for running/deep chested dogs. http://www.eclipse.net/~bobaloo/bloat.htm Hunter my adult whippet dog gets about 1lb of meat per day, but it all depends upon the dog, how much exercise it gets, it's metabolism etc. She will still be growing at 9mth so i would give her about 1.5lb and adjust it from there, if you see her gaining weight either up her exercise or reduce her food by about a 1/4 lb....and so on. If she loses weight increase the food. It is hard to give advice as i feed from eye.
  11. Superb :notworthy: Don't think people realise just how tiring days like that on those kind of numbers are for the dogs
  12. Spend loads of time and energy, rescuing spawn and tadpoles. Then having to manually keep the ponds clean and aerated because i cannot clean out the ponds whilst the tadpole are in it, and this happens.... Little tinker
  13. I'm gonna come down there and bleedin strangle you, how many time are we gonna have this conversation Dogs do NOT put weight on because of neutering, i've never had one do it yet, got a 14.5 yr old terrier here who was neutered at 6mths of age, and still has the figure of a working dog (albeit with less muscle). A 2-3 yr old terrier x who actually has a 6 pack. I do'nt do anything special except walk them properly, work them and feed them an adequate amount Some dogs may be prone to weight gain and the op + the fact they have a propensity may make them gain weight. But it is not the
  14. Told you http://www.thehuntinglife.com/forums/topic/204967-osteopath-or-chiropractor/page__view__findpost__p__2082950 My sister has to manage on a combination of large doses of several strong pain killers (Gabapentin, dihydrocodiene to name a couple). The surgery is her only other option, but something she really wants to avoid for as long as possible....she is a nurse so knows the score. Sorry i could not be more positive for you
  15. I know some people who need cockerels for breeding who live in built up areas bring the cock birds indoors at night. In a cat carrier then in under stair cupboard. Then let them back out in the mornings (at a reasonable time). They say the cocks get used to it and have no problems.
  16. I've 5 adult cock birds and several cockerels crowing in my garden, and tbh i never hear them anymore, You just get used to them. Hens make more noise laying...cant blame them really
  17. Everything that comes out of Hartmans mouth in that film is memorable! He was one of the best characters of any film IMO . Without a doubt A previous United States Marine Corps drill instructor, and Vietnam veteran.
  18. Gunnery Sergeant Hartman: I'm Gunnery Sergeant Hartman, your senior drill instructor. From now on you will speak only when spoken to, and the first and the last word out of your filthy sewers will be "Sir". Do you maggots understand that? [recruits answers: Sir. Yes Sir!] Gunnery Sergeant Hartman: Bullshit I can't hear you. Sound off like you got a pair! [recruits repeats with a louder tone] Gunnery Sergeant Hartman: If you ladies leave my island, if you survive recruit training, you will be a weapon. You will be a minister of death praying for war. But until that day you are pukes. Yo
