  1. The age makes no difference Bassy
  2. Dog whippets tend to takes ages to mentally mature, hold back for as long as you can. September he will be 9mths, a good age to slowly start him off on the easy new rabbits
  3. When mixing a lurcher and terrier. i think you are better getting opposite sexes. Terrier can be right little shits, a dog lurcher will be less likely to retaliate towards a bitch terrier being arsey. Whereas a bitch lurcher can quite easily kill a bitch terrier (and the same with dogs)
  4. Thanks for that Rolfe, was starting to worry one of the dogs had sugar in its urine
  5. Would be uncouth to lower your undergarments in the open
  6. It's a wheelie bin, and like a proper lady i wee inside, not up the side Seriously though, why would bee's want to drink dog urine?
  7. Any idea why, never noticed this before, two different types at it yesterday?
  8. Norfolk Terrier Irish terrier And probably an impossible wish, an athletic Staffie with a thick wire coat
  9. Thats bloody good going Tedd, a rabbit every 2 mins
  10. Definitely, the home is more important
  11. I believe it is genetic rather than personality Blan. But it is not as straight forward as that. Life experiences, nurture etc will dictate how we use what we have. You can have courage without having the 'fight' response...it is not that simple, remember we are talking about an immediate response to a dangerous situation. You can go into all levels of this sooo deeply, your example of WW1 soldiers vrs today's. Their way of life, their understanding of things, what they had to lose would have been so different from today's soldiers, that could dictate how they behave...and that could sw

  14. Serama's. A young trio Tell him they tame up lovely especially with live mealworms, and that the pullets could turn out to be good looking girls, the line they are from take a while to 'tighten up'. The cockerel for some reason i had no record of his parentage, so have no idea what he will turn out like. If he hatches any eggs he can get all sorts of colours from them (They go broody at the drop of a hat) That has made my day thank you
  15. :notworthy: Ridden down white rapids on a mountain in San Antonio Texas. Laid out a dead body the proper old fashioned way. Had a hysterectomy....that's something i can definitely never do again
  16. Thank you very much Fireman, would the chooks be the little buff trio from last weekend? Over the moon they are happy with them
  17. Very true, we could go on forever without ever finding a definite answer
  18. Much more complex BH, but there is only so much you can write without turning it into a thesis How many fighters professional or otherwise have at some stage submitted. How many soldiers throughout the ages have gone into battle knowing they were outnumbered and faced death. All people are different and have different levels in different situations....much like our dogs I think the problem in discussing something like this is very, very few people will have actually felt REAL fear or REAL anger, they may think they have but would definitely know it when they did. Untill then you
  19. Not trying to teach my granny how to suck eggs Gem, just please be carefull. I am very much the dominant bitch here, have to be with various 'types' all living together. I like to think i am quite clued up with regard to my pack and how they interact, spot warning signs etc. Then one day i came home to a dead terrier, and i would not wish that on my worst enemy. It can just happen out of the blue with dogs who have lived together in harmony for several years, at least you have had the warning that things are not going to be rosy between them
  20. Ditto, if it were not for the general sections on forums i would never know what was going on in the real world.
  21. I think "Focus" is missing from that list personally, many people will be able to instantly focus on what needs doing in high pressuer situations....JMHO Anyway, by the by........another very sad story, its why I dont buy newspapers any longer. That is part of the fight response Wilf
  22. I've found with terriers, once they make the decision to hate each other they never forget, you can do all the dominance training in the world, it may make them behave better but it will always be there and just takes one incident to kick them off again. Never ever leave them together unattended. I have also found bitches that do it are much worse than males. Sorry i could not be more positive.
  23. I used to train people with regard to challenging behaviours. There are several responses people may follow in a dangerous situation. They were... Fight Fright Flounder. When faced with a dangerous situation we will all display either one or a multiple of the above. Those of you who would walk through fire to save someone will have the fight 'gene' it does not mean you are a fighter but faced with a dangerous situation will rationalise, confront and cope. Those who have fright, will be too frightened to deal with the situation and will withdraw/run. Those with Flounder will hesi
