  1. It said the boy was found in the kitchen, the mother and daughter were upstairs, so would have been unable to get to him, the mother threw the daughter out to save her. Sounds like perhaps the wee boy may have accidentally caused the fire, just surmising of course, an explosion usually means gas and he was in the kitchen. Horrible for the whole family, praying the boy did not suffer.
  2. Wallace i am not one for getting in to arguments on here....but Your training methods described here for most breeds of dog would only heighten aggression and make things 100% worse. Bullies are far from brain dead, eager to please and learn, My reason for owning/working them. I could have any breed of lurcher, as i dont need to look 'hard' or need a penis extension, but i keep going back to them purely because they are intelligent, easy to keep, and a pleasure to work. If the only bull x's you have seen are the way you describe..aggressive and brain dead then i would look to the people
  3. Including mad Canadians and their brood This one was not at mine thank god....i draw the line at wild birds messing up the house....... ooops sorry i take that back i did allow you here
  4. Just as well you dont like them with advice like that
  5. This is one of the things which can happen when you start a youngster off with an older dog, they learn prey will be taken, can become selfish and sneaky or aggressive. ANY breed of lurcher. And this could then progress to possessiveness of prey with humans also. No need to have multiple dogs working together offlead unless they are part of a bobbery pack imo. As has already been said an E collar will only makes things worse in this situation, use it when the dog is already aggressive and it will make them more so, you would have to find a way of using it just prior to aggression completely

    best show

Pikehall, it was a one off but a brilliant show
  7. Bit of heart ruling my head i'm afraid Meroman. My 2 original boys plus a hen because she is so tame and trusting. The Corona male has not been interested in the ladies this year, so i am presuming she will be ok with these 2 boys?
  8. The person was not being unreasonable Bunny, i am way out for most people to travel, so petrol combined with cost would add up
  9. I have been asked how much i want to sell the canaries for, i said £10 per bird but it was too much? I paid £45 for one pair and £30 for another so thought £10 per bird was cheap, i would hate to rip anyone off though so would like peoples opinions as to how much to charge please. I did not breed to make money, and i am getting rid of all bar one hen and my 2 original cocks, i found it all very stressfull!!! But would like everyone else need money towards feed etc.
  10. I do not know that i believe people that say their dogs never get fleas, i do not think people lie, but i that they are just missing them. Unless people live in a plastic sterile bubble i cannot see how they cannot ever get them. Fleas, ticks are on just about every animal known to man, fall/jump off animals then onto another host. I know exactly when my lot have fleas, even though i cannot see them, i am really allergic to flea bites and fleas love me! I use Stronghold and frontline, prefer stronghold, seems to work better and it don't matter if your dogs get wet prior or after like i
  11. The last pic is good, really like the eyes..lifelike

    My Pack

OMG Grace is looking so grown up all of a sudden
  13. Can we also ban people who put teeny little photos up and when you click on them they go smaller
  14. Your gonna be a busy boy today Ian
  15. They get longer than that Ian http://animal-world.com/encyclo/birds/canaries/images/GlosterCanaryCoronaWBC_Ap13C.jpg I trim my adults so they can see to fly
  16. A good home is more important, somewhere with an aviary as these birds are used to flying semi free
  17. Always use Suducrem Although the rash never bothers her a bit and never stops her going back into cover for more She is baldy underneath hence the severity of it
  18. All that trouble and the photo is so small i cannot hardly see it, bless ye
  19. It's about that time of year we get people asking about spots and rashes on their dogs, so thought i would stick some pics up as the pussy spots can look quite alarming to those who have never seen them
  20. Everything was frontlined Sky, new bedding etc etc. I suppose the nests were not safe in their minds? Found the successful hen trying to bully one of the other hens off her nest the other day, she is quite near her (in a feed dish) Sounds a great idea, too late this year but a good one for another time....IF i keep any hens, been a bit stressfull But they are causing problems for me managing the Serama growers, having mother hen canaries with chicks. Without chicks i can just shoo the canaries into the coop, lock them in to allow the Serama access to the garden, cannot do that when
  21. Better raw than boiled I let mine eat the guts/fur, everything....cannot get any more natural than that, just make sure you worm them regular.
  22. My surviving youngsters. The three with wigs are almost identical apart from one has both wings green. One has a left green wing, the other has a right green wing. One is a very pale yellow, one a vibrant yellow and one a very orange yellow, red factor male slipped in me thinks! I did see him feeding the fledglings with the other male who was also feeding them and the hen? The 3 of them together.. With the hen... The last chick bless it's heart is a rather drab green, but i think it has a pretty face.....with the mother hen. The hen responsible
  23. In the 70's we did not have a phone, i used to have to walk to the phone box with my Mam and her bag of 2 pences. Would hang around outside untill it was my turn to say hello to my aunties When we did eventually get a phone in the 's no need for a lock, i would not have DARED use it without asking permission first.
  24. Gratz, you are brilliant thank you, been doing my head in trying to find those :notworthy:
  25. That is definitely a lie....you dont have any friends My fav bird here and one you rarely see it the tree creeper, secretive little bird, looks like a mouse scurrying around the trees and walls. And for the first year ever yellow hammers have been visiting the garden, they are not rare but have never in nearly 6 yrs been in the garden. Loads of greater woodpeckers, blue tits, great tits, chaffinch, and types of sparrow, tawny owls. And currently have a swallow on eggs in my hen feed shed, delightful to have but it shoots out everytime i go in, just waiting for the thing to get tangled
