nice dogs but no such thing is arabbiting dog there lurchers end of saw all sorts catching rabbits 27 to small dogs 23 and under , we just called them small lurchers , never ever bred a dog for just rabbits there lurchers

read a bit , to much collie is wastage in a running dog at times diluted with good grew brings a better dog to the table ,had the collie saturated dogs years ago not a patch on the dogs i have and bred but still like a bit collie type in them

never bred a rabbit dog but all could catch especaily the bitches

had beardie crosses saw several pure ones on the hill and no a few people with them some very fast and plenty bottle, my old mate marc c glenn had a few good ones my dog luke had beardie in him so did there pups lana minni they are not in any way nervous or nesh got balls like bengal tigers top drawer dogs in any mans hands as for borders well not my cup of tea only saw a few i realy liked but saw tons shy nervous hyper no good in a working poaching animal , for all sorts of game,

i do the same sky cat on the local land to get them jumping as barb wire is lethal for pups pair of steelfixers knips are handy to ahah

going out your way to hunt next seasons qaurry unless its lifting with game doesnt teach a dog a lot as the qaurry is a lot softer and easier , sep to start of march for me and pups odd nite out for refreshers thats dogs under a year old ,get them jumping fetching as pups need stimuaition to keep them ticking oer a few rabbs doesnt harm them anytime of year but come the lite nites , dogs are pets again getting walked ,no pleasure kiling does with levrets etc

a dog wouldnt grace my kennels if it couldnt catch game etc no matter how its bred , pet home and last resort put to sleep

love the collies but not to much collie enough to get the good parts and the rest leave on the farm , qaurter is enough or third plenty ,but had some great fun with collie types and had a few good ones who filled the bag anywere good dogs the right type

had a few three qaurter one bred by me one bought in mixed results one very good one other no better than a good greyhound for stamina unless realy fit , some ive saw had feet trouble others fine , best allround dogs if you get the right blend

good to see them coming on and doing a bit ferreting, all dogs should learn as pups a bit ferreting steadies them down and you get a bond as dog man ferret team -
work work make money for the long winter a head , fishing mostly on the sea , working rake aboots permision when he is on the rigs training his dog so he can go in next hunting comp lol o the bonny shoals of herring

had afew escapees but lucky they only hang about the yard , nothing worse than agood worker getting killed as its another one less to work with

a good honest storie you fight the elements and they fight you hence the bag size , -
used to have one big nobby he retreived all the birds from john o groats to lands end he was a write ferret lol, if youre experiment works fair play but , expect failure and if you get any good ones sell the ferrets that do retreive as there worth a lot to billy smarts circus lol

worst thing for leverets young hares is when they spray the tattie feilds to kill the shaws . the acid burns them and everything else at times should be outlawed

can be good sport but rough on the dogs hunted them, was well chuffed with hunt and the meat we had, a half grown one cooked and the rest went for sausages good meat for any man , there getting about now all over uk as alot of farmers with rough land breed them and some do escape
