  1. One of my closest pals is a serving soldier with multiple tours of Afghan under his belt, he has never once suggested the Geneva convention should be torn up. He is not some Gung-ho prick living in am american war film fantasy land, he is a professional British soldier doing his job to a high standard just like thousands of others......there is no room for maver We have a special mavericks regiment who cut round wasting people, that's a different kettle of fish. Wilf you put a uniform on and in some situations you have to be judge , jury and executioner. Afghanistan been there rules don
  2. He was a professional soldiier, he stepped off the parade ground and got caught it happens and is part of the turmoil of conflict. Personally I dont think he should have been prosecuted he acted in a humane way . His downfall was his comment regarding breaking the Geneva Convention which should be torn up war is war. I hope the judges see the reality of the situation and send him home to his wife and kids.

  6. A waste of twenty quid. Invariably when the hound sees game it starts jumping or trying to go so unless you have your finger constantly on the trigger it is fiddly and seen many dogs of the slips at the wrong time due to an overactive trigger finger . Some thing cheap and cheerful a lead out of the pound shop with theclipcut off ora piece of washing line an old work boot lace with a wrist loop fashioned on one end. Or for the lads who like to slip without collars a purpose made slip incorperating a collar.

  11. Dogs dont run dogs or men they run the hares. So all the bull doesnt mean diddly squat its how good the hares are that jump up andif the dog is up for the run. . Diffent days different locations and weather and different hares results can be reversed thats what makes the coursing job so interesting, Pitting dog against the hare not hype ,foggy recollections of events or even down right distortion of actual facts and events. Get out enjoy the day whatever the outcome tomorrowis a different day.

  14. Try to find a dog or bitch good confirmation thats gone through its working life doing what it should without serious injury. These 3/4/5 are not regular and what quality of the quarry. A dog that is consistant season after season on all terrain, in all weathers and on most legal quarry is worth its weight in gold. It may be striving for the holy grail but isnt that what breeding should be about trying to improve stock. The most talked about isnt always the best producer but blood and quality will out in the end if its looked for.

  17. Plenty of lads when out walking the dogs in many different areas have returned to find vehicle tyres slashed and vehicles vandalised but it never seems to make news paper headlines. The Police should they be called would go above and beyond the call of duty to see if they could find any reasons to prosecute the lads dog walking ranging from trespass to vehicle unfit for the road. or just not turn up.Normaly many a vandalised vehicle is in a rural area frequented by law abiding anti hunt supporters and stray LACS. who cant be identified because of the ski gloves and balaclavas they wear. st
