5,950 years of hunting in an environment that takes them out of their comfort zone. The first salukis came here in the 1800,s so they have done pretty well for ducks out of the desert. dont forget all the good running dogs greyhounds , salukis etc originate historically in the Middle East what would you lads have been coursing without them ? Men originated in Africa, what would you lads be doing and they not settled in the Middle East? 5,950 years of hunting in an environment that takes them out of their comfort zone. If some one points a firearm in your direction assume hes not bluffing.
-
At least he was polite telling you to clear off its usually f**k off LOL
-
But can it catch a hare pre ban of course these lads would like to know

You fudge answers well, are you thinking of going into politics?. Not as argumentative as some.

Mentally unstable must apply to 95% of running dog lads in todays environment how ever thats another matter. Dogs getting shot rarely gets publicised unless its accompanied by the sheep worrying tag. Plenty of tales coming off the big land about vigilanty farmers trying to force lads off the road ocaissionally a farmer or a keeper gets a slap and its headlines. All sides need to take a step back. Example the Air Ambulance is regularly called out by the Police to locate hare coursers is this what this resource is for or the donations given for? Its not unusual for 4 p0lice vans and 5/6 police

I havent kept Hybrids so again my opinion would be based on what I have observed i have done well with my pures here as have other of my saluki owning friends there are good and bad salukis just as there are good and bad Hybrids by volume bred hybrids seem to have a higher rate of failure. which is detrimental in any lines if quality progeny is expected. There is always the element of luck and chance but to level the balance slightly pures usually breed to type where as unless tight line breeding hybrids or multiple x,s it a gamble what the finished product is regarding height weight even te

Im not sure you are correct in your assumption that anything decent came out of the Middle East.Europeans have an impressive history in breeding dogs to satisfy many an hunting lifestyle, long before the Saluki reached European shores,in the shor

As I dont keep coursing bred dogs my opinion would be the same as arseholes everyone has one. I think it established that coursing dogs are just that and salukis are salukis two different animals.

The truth is the Saluki is bettered as a hare dog wether you like it or not. Do you admit that coursing bred dogs are better hare dogs than the Saluki? That's one question, just answer it please. You decide for yourself. i am happy with my salukis and will continue to be .No one is selling you anything so crack on .

The ability to be a better hare dog than a coursing bred lurcher, is that correct? in your opinion based on what and what is a lurcher ? So you're saying that the Saluki is a better hare dog then? Not just my opinion now is it? Where have I said that ?your the one talking about whats best what terrier is the best fox dog?
-
I can't understand that logic. I'm going overboard here but would you enjoy watching a collie course a hare knowing full well it won't catch it? Have you got anything that will run a hare let alone catch it?

6,000 years of dong what they were bred to do , what in your opinion are they lacking?
-
Coursing dogs just like the Saluki have been bred to run and catch things, it just happens that the men who use them run the Hare. The aim of the game is to catch the hare when all is said and done, it just goes to show how great these coursing bred dogs are to better the Saluki at running the h Genuine coursing you only got 1 p0int for catching the hare your confusing coursing and matching but I will bow to your obvious superior knowledge of running dogs

Two years ago wasnt there a load of trouble over North Yorkshire way gamie shot a dog and a lad got prison up for threatening him with dire consequences
-
The conditions the land even hares are varying quality more importantly the dog runs the hare that gets up not the other dog. .Coursing dogs have been specifically bred for hare salukis havent. Get a top hare out on the black in Cambridge a good saluki will hold its own if the courser doesnt kill in 3 mins it will be hitting a wall . No one said a saluki is an out and out fox dog there again what is ? and would it hold its own on hare or deer.
