  1. just keep them where you and the dog feel most at ease and comfortable doesnt make a jot of difference to working ability.
  2. that proves the point that to many being bred will you get a well bred lurcher pup from proven stock for 100 quid if you will means the market is saturated.
  3. yes they do place them in good homes but preferably good experienced homes not just saluki experience but good working x homes.. Anyone selling saluki or any pup for 100 quid is desperate to be shot off them so why breed without homes lined up if they are from good stock?
  4. what are the pures of JL out of ?
  5. Whilst I do see where your coming from DB, from what I know of coursing with lurchers, in the main, the end result is everything! That is what you measure a dog by, sport or not. You/we may all enjoy the run but a dog is judged on what it kills, not how well its ran, that only follows the end result. Form always follows function. that is the difference in hunters and coursers my dogs invariably kill at the end of the course but I dont get that much satisfaction from the kill, I have lived where the kill meant food on the table but here that is not a essential part of daily living so the
  6. Finishing the job in what ? hunting lamping etc or coursing as in coursing the kill is not the important issue, the actual running is where the enjoyment is the kill is the anti climax. In Matches 3/3 etc then the kill gains a lot more significance but good sport is different from a good pot fill or killing for the sake of killing.
  7. just give them someones details you dont like and feck off
  8. has he got feathery ears and can he run big allotments atb
  9. sack the tinned dog meat it contains cereal water preservatives etc and causes sloopy shits. feed minced chicken, beef, offal or tripe with a bit of biscuit aor pasta as a mixer bit of veg couple of times a week and small tin of pilchards once a week.
  10. 2 hours walking a day for a 12 wk old babe ? Sounds a lot I'm sure, walk I take my dogs on is a track which takes about half an hour to walk round. Older dogs generally f**k off on scents, pups I've had just amble. It's not a race mate, I'm not talking flat out walking here see that's the thing when you say something on here, it's hard to paint a picture. An hours walk is a lot of different things to different people, maybe I should have explained it better. Just get the pup out and about but if its got feathered ears brush them thoroughly before you go out, nothing worse than getting
  11. Let me guess said dog has had several owners in its relatively short life No just telling truth in what I know there to slow won't turn a long ear were I hunt fields to tight be no use pal you sure about that ?
  12. get a pup lad, mould it to your way of working if you lack experience seek out an old hand local to give you pointers plenty of good dogmen in Cheshire. atb
  13. I have known him to treat a running dog 40 stitches and a toe off and only charged the lad £ quid, the lad was only on low wage. Paul is always fair with working dogs doesnt poke his nose and does a good job in very reasonable price he makes his money of cats and budgies LOL
  14. wouldnt take a hamster to a bone man why do vets use xray and mri if you can guess injuries by gate and feel, no doubt some vets use them to loot money but would back Paul Evans diagnosis and treatment over any bone man and no doubt plenty of lads on here can vouch for Paul Evans, A good vet can do surgery if required a bone man cant and plenty of dogs been f/up by bone men tweeking the wrong injury, but every man to thier own preference
  15. get it to a good vet and let him have a look Paul Evans in Royton Lancashire When toes or joints are dislocated it is usually accompanied by ligament or tendon damage so better safe than sorry either way you are talking at minimum months certainly not weeks.
  16. is this big seeded land for running or is it an obstacle course with walls and wire?
  17. them are aerofoils not ears you will have to weight its front legs down a bit, LOL nice looking bitch though
  18. Hasnt p/p offered to run bully a few times with no success?
  19. I see you had put a post up earlier about how to get yor 1 year old lurcher running to the lamp and going on sitters, reading your post you appear to be just learning , my advice would be dont buy a saluki pup for learning on it will only lead to tears . atb
  20. i am pretty also but I cant run lol
  21. Dont start on antibiotics unless you know for definite it has an infection, blind treatment with antibiotics especially broad spectrum can mask many underlying conditions. How many days has he been lethargic ? and is he off his food or running a temprature dont start chopping and changing foods or routines untill you know what the problem is .
  22. All these lads owning all the top dogs and matching for 2 grand, if they all own top dogs what I want to know is who owns the shit ones besides me?
  23. :yes:its the holy grail for dick waggling though
