    you need patience and Would not recommend one as a first running dog unless you have a good mentor , as for the salukis themselves get a decent one and you have a dog capable of hunting most things as well as throwing a deaf one now and again all in all good breed. once settled in make first class house guard also.

    Lambs hearts are spot .on. the paunches are a waste of time if you freeze the lambs hearts and leave frozen for at least 3 days any parasitic infection is killed they can then be defrosted as needed and fed raw whole or minced with veg and a mixer.

    Assuming it was correct about Khan then probably 60% of UK bred salukis wouldnt be pure , also you follow the lines of Khan jihad back I for one wouldnt like to point out which of his lineage are not pure. I would be inclined to think they are pure. Its easy for the shit stirrers to start rumours about any dog or lad come to think of. it., there are a lot of miserable jealous sad c**ts in the dog game.

    A saluki is 100% pure if its not then it is not a saluki full stop even you cross out a dozen times to a pure it still has dna from an out cross. Most Uk salukis are questionable because of the corruption of the Kennel club and unscrupulous breeders who will breed from anything that bleeds. The serious saluki lads are always willing to get out and run their dogs, some choose not to this is up to them but one of the biggest draw backs is untried and untested salukis being studded and bred from, how can a breed progress with some that shouldnt have a hamster never mind a dog.

    I am reading with great interest about the various salukis around and the sugestion that imports are the way to go. This may or may not b the right path to follow it comes down to personal choice. There are plenty of lines in the UK that with the right owners and the right handling would ensure regular numbers of various quarries being caught. You need two qualities in abundance with salukis the first is patience and the second is adaptability you need to be able to adjust to the difference in temprement and running styles between the line bred lurchers and the pure salukis. , with the numbe
