I have yet to come across a dog with feet better equipped for dealing with most terrains than a saluki. Most people see the small height skinny feathery eared variety of saluki and dont fully understand the regional differences in confirmation and stature of the breed.

not indestructable but they all have good feet and I know what I am doing

Get a length of fishing rod and a rabbit skin on it use it with a cord run her clock wise and alternate anti clock wise let her chase it round just speeding it up enough to keep it in front of her after a few rounds let it drop and let her catch it and then call her and praise her when she returns it to you. When she gets used to this then do away with the cord and use the rod as a flirt pole again she should run after the skin get hold and return it to you, its just a matter of repertition and praise she will get the idea soon enough.

Salukis can run land that most dogs would not be able to cope with, injuries from flinty land do happen occaisionaly to the salukis feet but far less than other breeds -

Henna is more of a mild antiseptic and helps cool the feet on hot ground. 0ne of the reasons saluki feet are not injury prone is double thickness skin on pads nothing to do with the Henna. -
You have a young saluki chances are at the minute it will be all legs and ears, most develop at a slower rate than the lurcher x salukis so give it all the time it needs , many a good dog is ruined putting it under the cosh before its physically and mentally ready. You do get exceptions in salukis that are ducks to water and will chase and kill at very young age but it is stll fools gold to make a regular habit out of it until the muscular and skeletal system are fully knitted . A well bred saluki brought along at the correct pace will run and catch game at 8/9/10 years old as they mature and g

I didnt equate a good dog with a pipe dream I explained the difference between a reality and dreams and a pipe dream. As for having good dogs is something every dog man should be able to achieve given time and experience but to have an exceptional dog and get it to where it deserves to be is beyond the capabilities and the patience of most alledged dogmen that is why dogs are punted around all through the season.
-
and what game would that be then ? as for pipe dreams not being a failure a pipe dream is excactly that something that is not going to reach a satifactory conclusion there is a difference between a dream and a pipe dream many dreams are achieved but pipe dreams will not be.

Plenty of things in this world are average , the task is to achieve the best possible result with the raw materials skills and talents available. People or animals can only do their very best and that is all that anyone can ask of them, to chase pipe dreams and the pot of gold at the end of the rainbow is failure in its self , so try your best and accept what ever the outcome is and live with it you will have a much happier life,

I got caught in similar circumstances but I was on a public footpath near my vehicle. Gamekeeper collared me till police got there, they took my lamp off me and interviewed me but dropped the charges a day before my court date. Lasted 6 months but I got my lamp back. Point of story is admit feck all Ps they told me I could have my lamp back the day after and I wouldn't be charged with anything?? They 'lied' the gamekeeper has no right to detain you for at the time only guilty of tresspass which is a civil offence. If he made you stay against your will that's borderline kidnap. think you w

You only get out what you put in, but you have to have the raw material to start with.

The best advice I can give you Troy boy is re=home the dog and donot get another one, Basically you have not got a clue, the pup because that is what it is, has possibly been crippled for life ,either by your lack of experience or plain stupidity. By the comments you make about it still catching I would venture stupidity as the correct answer. No one with any nouse should even talk to you about another dog the money you talk of for the 6 X-rays use that to advertise for a proper home for the dog..
