Like you say"youve seen a few"a few is no yardstick?,they are blessed with stamina, obviously with their size possibly not best suited to bunny,s,but the owners that tread the Deerhoundy path won,t be to fussed about that,a bunny won,t fill a freezer that one run with a Deerhoundy lurcher will?and as for not liking teeth, its in the parents, its in the pups,be selective in what you initially source and the rest follows.

Deerhound crosses, the mix is the most important part, hold their own in any company,on any chosen quarry.I prefer the addition of Border collie. In my experience, based on over 30 years graft with the breed,i would own no other type lurcher.Ive seen outstanding lurchers of various breeding, yet the Deerhound types, bred right, with the collie influence in my case, entered right and tested right, have few equals.Ive seen many quality lurchers make duffers because of the kennel they live in,its the same with any lurcher,if its bred from grafters a good kennel will get graft out of the mutt. You've jus

they collect, swop and trade them like pokemon cards Now your just showing your age, majority on here don,t know what Pokemons are?.

Thats an harsh lesson mucker, money time and effort that would have bourne fruit with a pup from genuine grafters, bred from grafters.Id never own a pup unless i actually witnessed at least one of the parents tested, not always possible, but easier to walk away from a breeder thats unwilling to show a dog at work, than it is to part with brass on a chancer.

why not get a pup owt of two dogs doing the job well? insted of breeding owt of a dog that isnt? Just coz two dogs are doing well does'nt mean yours will come on ive not been in the coursing game long but know that ,that does go as you would love it to all pups out of litter top class. Her lines have some top class dogs which have proved there selfs on big land. ie foxy , charlie, jack, flash cornfields joe, decon, ruby, casper. Lads that i know want a pup so might get them to kennel a few and give um a pup for f**k all. keep um on and run um all on till i think which is showing potential ma

Cheers pal for the help you would think us lads would pull together with times being as hard as they are with the law on our backs but theres lads like you pal that need to grow up mush. I agree pal,he,s taking the pish,a sensible lad like you deserves a lot better,a back passage thrusting by Errol may feck some sense into what little resource your skull capacity may allow, tell you mam.

There are some jobs that full size dog of 29+ can do much better than a smaller dog but an open forum isn't the place to discuss this. Keep saying it and 1 day you may actually believe it. Pm me if you prefer id like to see these full sized dogs do so well whe. compared to a not full size dog haha full sized that's a hoot give me a small powerfull bitch any day I hear them female? Korean weightlifters are an handful and difficult to tame.

As far as the food is available.

If your as bright at hunting as you are on the EU and snow, then the bunny,s have little to fear.

Dogs that quickly learn when to avoid heavy cover catch far more over the years than the mutts that charge in and are laid up through injury,or carry injurys that result in a missed opportunity.I prefer a dog to learn from its experiences and abort a run or two if it feels its necessary. So i miss a catch or two, they will be there to run again.

You don,t need a lamp, don,t even need to hunt and chase to exercise a dog, letting things breed and re-stock will make the ground viable for season after season, what you kill now could be quadrupled later in the year. Some need little excuse to kill breeders and young,if genuine pest control is not the reason to be at em,leave em for later and reap the rewards.
-
does it not occur to you that some people dont just hunt for sport, but do it because rabbits/foxes are an actual pest and need geting rid of? do you think farmers are going to stand about and let foxes take the lambs this time of year just because of your stupid "season"? And let the rabbit population regenerate so they can keep wrecking the same hedges year after year? stupid c**t I understand your point about pest control, but most don,t do it for that reason and the majority of the summer hunters use the pest control excuse to justify their hunting lifestyle, don,t like the cold, mud and da

none-but i did do 2 years in canada back in 98 working as a chippy/farm hand alot more game out in the wilderness to test a dog to its full-unlike the uk where we only got-rat,rabbit,fox you catch my drift?thought the bedlington boys would jump at such a chance to send dogs over to the states to be tested fully?dont you think? atb no ! discuss? get it off your chest sparky mate. simply, it means "the bedlington boys" dont exist. there isnt a man in this country breeding bedlingtons for earth work, no consistent line, no continuous digging year after year, therefore there is no wor

Finding working stock will be your biggest problem, there are not a lot of genuine bred working Beddys about, plenty that ratch about on top,but few tested at work below, when these are available they are usually snapped up by the few lads with the connections, sadly.Get your homework done, get in the queue and be prepared to wait a season or two,to get the right stock, otherwise take your chances and waste money and time on a bushing dog.Im the Beddys biggest fan,but id put my money into a couple of decent Lakeys or Fells thus putting the odds more in your favour.
