  1. Ive owned about 7 or 8 Beddy,s,one out of them was an ignorant liability and a loss in waiting,he,s now a pet,the rest have earnt or are earning their keep.Throw them in a kennel and take them out on the odd weekend and you will have a problem, graft them regular and hard and they soon settle into a stable pattern of work and recall, well the ones ive persevered with have.
  2. Tommy Docherty, the marmite manager.Scottish footballers are renowned for their lack of ability playing the game, they spend most of the match watching from afar, thus they have a better understanding of how the game should be managed.Especially now theres only one team left now competing in the SPL.
  3. I can stop mine SK,can also control their direction and call them back, may have to raise the voice at times.
  4. At 4 years old id be cautious with the mutt,id be looking for any bad traits the dogs become accustomed to,go through the basics with the dog and see where it needs a little education.Spend the summer bonding, reinforcing any needed training, getting its fitness levels to a desired level, testing it on the odd run and then take it from there.
  5. I see these free advertisement attempts coming up on here far to often,if the owner cannot be parted from a fiver to advertise in the right section, then its says more about the pups than anything else, thus the chancers and kennel kickers will be the only ones,on the whole, you will attract.
  6. Most Beddys now are bred from substandard stock,a sad reflection on the lads who see the dollar sign as more important than breeding for honest graft, not to far removed from the Fells and Lakeys perhaps.Finding a genuine litter is a minefield of mis-information and bullshit, see the parents graft and the chancers and rodent chewers melt into the shadows. For every genuine pup bred, many, many, many more are bred and advertised and sold as workers,a genuine shame for the breed, sourcing honest stock is fraught with lies and ego,s.Im the Beddy,s biggest fan and advocate,if i wanted to reccomend a terr
  7. The best bushing dog ive owned was a Beddy, opened up on strong scent, screamed the place down when on,put the lurchers in the right place on umpteen occasions, over many years, her grandson works to the same standard, but is less vocal, which i find a problem with a busher. My old lass would follow scent and chase,i could walk away and she would soon turn up again,i got rid of one that was a tad ignorant and worked away and i had to look for it,which ive found is not the norm with the type i graft. As with any busher its a case of finding the mutt that suits your hunting lifestyle and sometimes adapt
  8. An 11 month old youngster is a long way off becoming anywhere near the finished article,it will take many, many sessions in the lamp, ferreting, working off a slip or anything else before the mutt starts to show its true ability, let the dog and owner learn slowly,a few mistakes, many a miss and a little frustration will soon be followed by fewer mistakes, less misses and an happier owner.Be patient, then be more patient, put in the time and effort and see the patience slowly rewarded.
  9. Good age for bunny,s,few short outings will do the mutt more good than harm,if the dog snaffles them with ease don,t be tempted to overdo the outings,if it struggles, wait another couple of months, keep an eye on the temperature at this time of year as it will quickly drain the energy from a mutt.
  10. I believe ive been at your house, you introduced me to your mum and dad and aunty and uncle, there was only two people in the room?. Says the one from feckin KEIGHLEY Its Oxenhope and Stanbury wher they are all inbred.
  11. Ill take my chances, fecking hell do you honestly believe your the only member on here thats scuffed his knuckles.

  13. If you think that old youngster looks more Collie, your a total fecking window licker, how inbred are you?
  14. Ive never seen at the end of any dig or bolt, the escapee worried about the colour of its adversary.
  15. Seriously,id never swear on my daughters life, just wrong and shamefull, that dog is not 16 weeks old. Fecking he fella give the lad a break and as for the dog diff people expect diff things from thier animals i just depends what the lad is wanting from the dog,ok she wont have as much pace as some i give ya that but maybe ideal for what he wants 16 weeks old, seriously?.

  17. That mutts a long way from 16 weeks old,it will turn out as about as useful as most dogs with no stride and pace,a dog fit only to work after the terriers have done the real graft, throw it in the green plastic thing with wheels on,which possibly as more pace and grace.
  18. When i first started out id have bought a lurcher anywhere, often did, shows, cattle auctions, horse fairs and ads in papershops,in all honesty the majority of them ended up making useful enough mutts, when your young and eager a turd, with enough graft behing it,will shine after a bit of polishing. Now i would,nt and have learnt the art of patience and being selective, which is lost on youthfull enthusiasm, there are many, many more than useful mutts to be found in the most unlikely of locations.I can remember selling live chickens to some of our ethnic cousins in Bradford, passing a travellers site and
  19. I owned and ran a pair of Whippet/Greys x Saluki.23 and 24",both lightly built.Put them behind an hare on easy open land and they were more than useful, both lamped and managed good bags of bunnys, both worked better from a lead than off it,struggled on heavy ground and not the brightest of things,id have another if i wanted a bunny basher and had use of open land away from unwanted attention.
