  1. Only Bull crosses and sled draggers can kill cows and pigs, oops soz read it wrong!.
  2. I can understand the pest control argument,if thats the true reason?,otherwise hunting in summer does not sit well with me,unless its squirrel and rat bashing, double standards no doubt, fair to hunt a rat or squirrel, but anything else is frowned upon?.Its easy to take lads to task for T shirt forays into the field while some of us take issue and hunt no less an animal than what we judge others on.Certain pest species i save for the time of year when my main hunting is put on hold, thats my justification,it eases my conscience but in reality its still hunting.
  3. Not many have top class pups, and the ones who have rarely have to sell them, they are gifted into like minded kennels.Often the top grade pups for sale are seldom that?.
  4. You should have taken a gun,i don,t mean to shoot the woolies with, you taffs have a better use for them?.
  5. Aye,that's all we can do now Morton work inside the guidelines of the hunting legislation..it's not ideal but atleast us old feckers got to see a bit of "old style" slip the dawg hunting before the legislation came into effect lol..thank feck! They cannot erase the memories Morton :-) ..all the best matey. Memories, thats Barbara Streisland to some, what a song?,romantic, beautiful, class, just like an honest jukel really.Less of the old feckers, ive miles in my aching limbs yet.
  6. Those guns come in handy at times, its a real shame we need guns now to do the job lawful jukels could do alone, any chance to be out and about, even with restrictions,is a day well spent, keep your eye in mucker.
  7. You stated "no idiots",that narrowed it down by 99%.
  8. why would you use the dog in the first place? An awful lot of terriers are bred from workers that see little work,a sad fact of life.If the stud had seen 3 or 4 seasons honest graft and then decided to pack it in,id be happy enough with a pup from it,it would be a more fitting stud than a lot that are being used, especially the more pretty ones.
  9. I was talking about rock dogs. As an example,a few years ago in company with a keeper and local terrierman in the Dales, what i can only describe as the the East side of Everest and the terrierman saying put a dog in there just below that hawthorn, walking at least 120 yds further along another dog was entered, those two dogs had to work that between them, impossible for one terrier, nigh on impossible for two,the old lads owned better rock working fox dogs, not the full on breeze blocks now that would struggle in spots like that.
  10. Proper litters are few and far between,as you possibly know, when they are bred the lads in the know often have them snapped up before they are even born. There are plenty of Beddy,s hitting the market, the vast majority are only fit for rodents or the wheelie bin.Its a no win situation at times, lads wanting to get into a certain breed often have only dross to choose from, the breed then gets knocked for producing dross.I know of a litter due in 4 weeks,at least 6 lads have booked surplus pups,at least 4 of them will be disappointed,i know of another bitch that will be lined when it comes in seaso
  11. Usually find it towards the rear on a British Rocking Horse,at the front on an American one. WOW! f****n original. Try again f**k face! Just YANK ing your chain Dan!
  12. The fella,s about then had a better working understanding of the places they entered a dog,or two, even 3 at times.Theirs was a tried and tested formula that few would undertake now,how many would even enter a terrier now in some of the places the old lads saw as commonplace?.
  13. Source a pup, train it up through the Summer and Autumn,Early winter start the lamp training.
  14. Usually find it towards the rear on a British Rocking Horse,at the front on an American one.
  15. The more the dog see,s the more it will learn,be patient, expect many, many disapointing outings, eventually as it matures, gets fitter and learns, the catches will come.
  16. Get a Whippety and do your own research.
  17. I would,nt let the kids near unknown mutts, thats also irresponsible.
  18. If your wanting a dog that will test itself more, then unless your bitch is also up to the task id source a proven pup bred from parentage that covers your needs.
  19. You can say what you want fella but if you can't train and socialise your dogs to live happily amongst kids then perhaps you need to keep a different animal ....... Some of the lurcher breeds about now, also some of the terriers with the infusions added,id be careful with around kids.My own dogs are let out of the runs by the kids and grandkids, they can play with them, feed them by hand and apart from one terrier, greedy fecker, can eat undisturbed in their company, its knowing your dogs temperament and having them socialised and trained and training the kids as well, ive only had one terrier that
  20. Most terrier kennels inbreed to fix and keep type,it can lead to problems, the odd outcross usually alleviates any of these.
  21. Depends if your mums a looker or not?.
