  1. That's one thing I can certainly do, is back myself up.When have I actually called you a Liar? And why should I shut up when as you say ,it is FREEDOM OF SPEECH?I was taught one admirable quality, when in the wrong, just admit. If I have slated you like you have myself, then I am man enough to apologise to you. I cannot see what I have done wrong only but having a diiffering opinion.....Why not settle our differences of opinions by accepting that we have got different views on terriers?You have consistently said that I am Johhny Bluck. You also stated that in your words I am too sickly nice;
  2. First and formost, I don't need to get into a slanging match by someone who hasn't much knowledge regarding terriers and working them underground. I can assure everyone on these forums that I have done and seen the the job first hand for more years than I can remember. For you to think that baying dogs have no place in the way that terriers work underground; you surely haven't experienced proper terrier work in the way that it should be conducted. It is totally common sense that a good baying dog will see and account for more quarry than an hard dog that is always off sick. Like I have said be
  3. They do,except in the dark your more likely to bump into things you,d rather not,the night time is a two spooned soup bowl grasshopper, while your greedily emptying your side another is urinating in the other.

    How Often

Quality time is better than anytime,a dog will learn more from 10 minutes on land abundant with scent than 3 weeks on land with little. Not everybody as the lifestyle that dictates they can offer the mutt more freedom from the kennel confines,do what you can, when you can and try to zone in to the land that best suits a mutts education,it may take a tad longer to get some dogs up to speck, patience is a virtue.
  5. I tried to teach my granny how to suck eggs,''does,nt even look like an egg'' she mumbled.
  6. Keep it to yourself, invite no fecker,to many Boomerangs about.Treat it like you own it and reap the rewards.Decent permission is hard come by,once you have your toe over the threshold more often follows, the domino effect, happy hunting.

  9. God forbid anybody owning a working terrier and an ability to read and appreciate the odd book, they will be wearing shoes next and own transport with an engine.
  10. One of the best written and informative books on terriers now as to be Glovers contribution to the Working Bedlington ,if experience and honesty ever played a part in writing he would be head and shoulders above a slug, just.
  11. Should make a useful bushing dog that will also catch at times, like yourself many want a busher to push game in front of the runners, this breeding should do a bit of both.As earlier stated a smaller busher i.e. terrier,is better suited to the task, the terrain you bush will have the biggest influence on the type of busher that best suits.
  12. If i owned a runner that killed an Hare that looked like that,id shoot whatever came into focus.
  13. Its often the case that we take more satisfaction from a dog that does what its size dictates it cannot, than from what its size dictates is required from it,in reality we know a good little un,is often 3rd best to a decent bigger un.
  14. In your experience, would you advocate a small un taking on the task that a bigger stronger un would advocate with far more ease and purpose, horses for courses and all that?.
  15. The miles you put in,the fecking dog will be happy to take a rest, ive yet to meet a lurcher that was less resolute than its honest owner, chin up.
  16. One of the best lurchers ive ever seen in the field was 23",i wish id owned it or owned a pup from it,Collie/Grey,sadly this bitch met an early fate, gates seldom bend.Im all for smaller mutts that do a task,we,ve all witnessed them in the field, yet the reality of life lets some of us know that small is often second best,a good small un is rarely as good as a good bigger un,until then we make the best of what we own.
  17. It never surprises me how a lurcher heals and hunts again, ive had them in pieces and hunting again within 6 weeks, good luck mucker, seriously you won,t need it,best of.
  18. Im all for a little honest prostitution, especially if they kneel down and then ask you for a Fiver, but is there any chance of you posting anything relevant on here that does not require somebody parting with their dosh?.
  19. If she had cocked on me id have lined her, charged £250 a pup for honest grafting Bedlingtons and lined my pocket,s,as this seems normal and acceptable practice now i may as well jump on the gravy train and take advantage.5 pups £1,250 in the bank, bollocks to that when some are charging far more, ill put another £100 on each pup and take my chances on £1,750 to piss against the wall and lubricate my conscience, easy money. There are enough nuggets about that are easy to part from their hard earned and the honest types that i take advantage of i can live with,1,750 times. All i need to do is put a f
  20. I had two young bitches,i owned one my lad owned the other,i was saving mine until this autumn and some easy entering,my lads was keen to go and from 12 to 14 months,at the end of this season she managed to bolt 6 or 7 fox,s she entered to,she also pushed many, many, many out of cover, she looks like she may make a useful sort of terrier.Mine i lost 5 minutes from home last week,i let her off the leash as i neared home, not seen her since, somebody picked her up and never reported the fact,if she is close by ill bump into her. Both bred out of my own stuff,Honest Fell in the mix.
  21. Sadly not everybody as your honesty,to many people breed from terriers that are not worth breeding from.If i wanted a bushing dog and did not want it to enter id source a non-entering busher,Spaniel,Beagle, combination of both etc.,if,as many do,they wanted a terrier id source an honest bred working type then hunt it as i required,a proper bred terrier often shows more character than one of its non-entering cousins, this often proves advantageous out in the field, especially if it meets its quarry face to face.Again to much dross is bred with the sole intention of turning a dollar, especially in t
  22. My terriers push out of cover, with the big b*****d lurchers in attendance, when the lurchers are in attendance when the quarry as run to ground i expect the terriers to do their job of work,if it could not fulfill that part of its work id cull it,or the lurcher that could not graft with the terrier. You will never need to try a terrier at earthwork,it should come natural, again if it does not its a fecking cull,if they do whats wanted on your endeavours, fair play,id not feed one of them. what ever mate, your on a different planet. its quite simple, i dont want my terriers to go to ground.
  23. Why?, i expect my terriers to be vocal above and below, the more vocal they are the better they get the job done,id not breed from a terrier without those attributes.Explain?.
