The way to deal with this is, if you suspect or know you have an illegally powerful air rifle, go see your RFD in advance and explain what you have and make an arrangement to have it brought to him for a new spring and service to UK legal spec. The HW80 is one of the best break barrel spring air rifles in the world. Nothing beats it! I have a .22 HW80, albeit on my FAC and it is truly amazing what shooting this has given me. Simon

HW80 or HW77. Or TX200HC! All three are air rifle legends, beloved of generations of shooters the world over, for very good and proven reasons. I love them!

The Police use clearly defined proceedures Mike. The Law demands that they do. I can assure you the forensics labs use several well known brands of pellet that bring out the performance of an air rifle in question very well. AND They will use more than one single Chrono type/make of, to get a true average performance reading if necessary. One pellet they used for years was Eley Wasps until, they started appearing in shit-order as they are now. The old wasp was a very consistant velocity performer down most barrels. I personally loved them for my Webley rifles over the years. They maxed th

Phil it's because this is a place for adults, silly sods being shitty with people get short shrift! He brings all he has ever got on himself mate and after the smart-arse infantile way he conducts himself he's been dealt with in the same like-fashion. I actually liked him and I've spoken up for him against his enemies here before. And I really do admire the loyalty you have shown for defending your friend, But like I said mate. You go clearing the minefield he lays for himself to keep him from unfair abuse and BOOM! He goes walking right in front of you and triggers off another one!. He

I'm not going to message you privately. You've happily dished out your shit in public, so take it back in public. It's nothing personal between you and me anymore. I'm as calm as a mill pond here! Your respect for me is diminishing. You are getting smaller and smaller to me mate! And as before, there you go again...."It's not me and you are wrong and I never meant and it's polluting..."! The pollution is all yours Miles. You wrote the pollutive shit that brought this down on you. You've been writing it all over the bloody forum and I'm fed up with it and I've told you so in a d

Not half as disappointed as I am Miles. You, like a fool, provide me with all the bloody justification anyone needs to launch off at you! I have a great deal of respect for Phil, your one true mate as far as I can tell. Here he is speaking up for you again. I admire his loyalty and himself as a man. For that reason, I am putting the pins back in and the safety catches back on and will apologise for my outburst to him. I have no argument or beef with you Phil. But Miles. The pattern is clear to see. You get into a moment of smart-arsing someone who comes back at your plainly insulti

Milagajo. See what I said before? You just cannot resist being at the centre of a shit-slinging bag session can you laddie! You must see it as a personal best if you can get a thread closed and a viable discussion terminated in as many shit-stirring, snide-remarks in your posts as you can cram in! if you cannot post with remarks germain to the actual discussion of the thread, would you kindly refrain from the clearly overwhelming temptation to make smart-arse, smug and snide remarks on everything the lads just want to air their views on. They have a moral right to do that. It's a forum for

Righty-ho then, in the belief of fairness, clarity and honesty. While my original thread has descended pointlessly into another internet forum ding-dong with Milegajo at the centre of it ...again! (Not the first time is it Miles/Mike! Won't be the last either, I'll bet....LADDIE!!) Tony Wall and I have been in communications and resolved our differences. Very, very well and amicably indeed! This good man has offered, in the name of goodwill and good business, to tune my HW97KT for just the price of the postage...And it will no doubt stun and exasperate the grasping, freeloading, some

Quick Review Of The Daystate Huntsman Classic
pianoman replied to Marksman's topic in Rifle Reviews, Technical Help and Tips
That pistol grip/wrist is perfectly set back and swept. Absolutely beautiful as a PCP can get Darryl mate. You show me how well this rifle shoots,,,and.....I might yet get a left handed one of these......... Best regards mate. Simon -
I'll get back to you mate. Gotta get some sleep for an early kick-off tomorrow/this morning!
-
Yes Andy I'd love a shoot with you; and Oscar too if he's around! I'll be bringing my HW77 and FAC HW80. You can show me my HW97 to remind me what it bloody well looks like! Cheers pal. Simon.

...Still waiting for Sandwell Field Sports to complete my stage 2 tuning kit with the new Piston head from Weihrauch, Gerrmany and send it here for my HW97KT to be finished by AndyFR1968.... Only been on order since early February...Seems you can get a rifle tuned in no time but doing it yourself with the same kit takes forever.... .I feel legal consultation and solicitors' letters coming on..... Set your baby owl decoy on a tree stump. or resting on a fence post, or Hawthorn branch; anywhere where a baby owl will be expected to be seen by Magpies and I'm certain you'll get a result. Used one myself for baiting Magpies over many years and it works. But keep well hidden and absolutely out of their sight or you might as well shoot the bloody deek! Pianoman

Perhaps fate was telling you the life of a Royal Marine is not for you and your destiny lies doing something else. I'm a great believer in this kind of thing!
-
Is this a fixed mag scope; one without adjustable front-lens focus?? If so you might need to adjust focus with the eyebell. You might find that is fixed by a threaded screw ????? Or has it progressively gotten worse? Is your rifle a recoiling springer?

I have an HW97KT in .177 currently awaiting its tuning kit from Tony Wall at Sandwell Field Sports. Mine has a 1980s HW77 vintage stock fitted which gives it the sweetly balanced handling of an HW77 with the compact handling of the HW97 developed from it. Can't wait for my mate Andy to install the kit and finish it off! One of the greatest air rifles ever! You are going to love it! Pianoman.

My dearly beloved Andy-tuned Weihrauch HW77 .22 full length rifle and Hawke Panorama EVO 4-12X50 IR AO scope. Perfect rifle.

Spring air rifle shooting.

BUMP!! For REECE! -
Put your deeks loosely about the spilt corn and, have them roughly facing into wind. Watch the feeding positions and patterns of pigeons and copy them. Shoot from a well-concealed hide position. The merest hint of you being there will scare off the lot, no matter how well-set up everything is.

Learn decoying and never let the farmers know all you do! If I were in your boots... I'd point out that while assisting and advising him in his choice of air rifle, my help did not include advices on blindly shooting holes in the roof... And, while I have marksmanship skills that has clearly prevented this sort of damage, as can be seen by the lack of holes in the roof and other damage these past two years, his son is a modern-day teenager and thus possesses a tendency to be a tad f***ing stupid at times! And who gives a gun to the stupid? Pianobastard!

New Ammo For British .22 Rifles - Coming Soon
pianoman replied to Carnivore's topic in General Airgun Discussion
The original .22 /5.6mm Eley Wasps were great in my .22 HW80 redial. That's all there is to it my friend! If they return these to the same standard, they should be fine again. A bit tight in the breech but, very accurate. Plenty of punch too. They could really flatten rats no end from this rifle! Regards. Simon -
New Ammo For British .22 Rifles - Coming Soon
pianoman replied to Carnivore's topic in General Airgun Discussion
That's marvelous news. I have 250 original Eley WASPS and I feel loathe to shoot them. They are the last of a true, great pellet. The current makers haven't a clue. Mis-shapen balls of bollocks is what they make and put in the tins now. I have a 15 year old HW80 that will like these new ones if they are are up to the standard of the original WASPS!! Can't wait! You can only shoot to what you are capable of and no more. Some of us are blessed with a natural talent for long range/all range shooting and some of us are not. We all of us have to work hard, train hard and practice hard to shoot easy!... There's no shame in not being able to hit a rabbit clean beyond 30 metres. There's another disgraceful matter when an animal is seriously injured and made to suffer for an idiot shooting beyond his ability. That's not shooting, that's bloody dumb incompetence and cruelty. No other way to say it! Set a 2-pence size target disc at 40 metres. If you
