Same goes for RED BECK shooting supplies, Crofton nr. Wakefield, West Yorkshire, from me. Very helpful service from Anth and Paul. They have a proper outdoor test range to try your gun. Very good savings and discounts on rifles and scopes. Pellets are reasonably priced too. Simon

I have to admit Skot. I have had a keen liking for the Daystate Huntsman Classic for some time since it came out. Then there's this Huntsman Regal that's now out......And it has a better shot count than the Classic. Oh God I don't know. Maybe I'll have one yet! But i was out today with my HW77 .22 and it put one Air Arms field 5.52mm after another down the same hole at 30 metres. How much more accurate is that? Simon

Shooting A Theoben Eliminator.
pianoman replied to Rimfireboy!'s topic in Rifle Reviews, Technical Help and Tips
I must admit I have not heard anything nice from those I know who've had one on their licence rimfireboy!. Too much recoil is the main complaint. It will certainly "Eliminate" many an unwary scope! As a thought, I have an HW80 .22 on my licence tuned at 21.3 ft/lbs. If I put it into a CS500 sporter stock from Custom Stocks of Sheffield, I would have a rifle that looks exactly like an Eliminator and shoots way better than the Theoben rifle. Simon -
My New Tx200! + Some Questions
pianoman replied to dangerousdan's topic in General Airgun Discussion
I've never had to adjust my TX200HC trigger 'Dan, but, the two on the CD unit are for both let-off weight and pull length. It would be well to have a play about with the unit so you can see what screw moves and changes what Incidentally, when Air Arms introduced their triggers they called them "CD" as Weihrauch called their trigger unit "Rekord" Best wishes mate. You have a lovely rifle here. Simon -
An "Imp" is a small, demonic being that gets up to all sorts of mischief. A good name for a small but potent air rifle And no disrespect Si but your SWFS SPECTRE is pronounced "Specter or Speckter" A spectre is the name for a phantom, a spirit or ghost that brings a message or warning of doom or death. Another good name for a good air rifle. Tony can pick em!

My New Tx200! + Some Questions
pianoman replied to dangerousdan's topic in General Airgun Discussion
Hi. Your TX200 is a TX200HC and the stock is Beech. It's very nice, Air Arms source very nice woods for their stocks but, this is definitely Beechwood. Walnut has a slightly more texterous feel of woodgrain to it than beech and is either a lighter honey colour or darker than beech and with a really lustrous figure to it. Your stock here though, is very nice and does not take anything away from what should prove a fine rifle. There are two screws to adjust the CD trigger of the TX200HC. Basically, if you find the trigger stiff, take off the trigger guard and you will see the two screws in -
No. There will not be damage to a synthetic stock if a bit of oil gets onto it. Give it a wipe off with a rag. You should always give your rifle a good wipe over with an oily cloth after shooting anyway. Your hands contain oils which will cause corrosion of the blueing so, it's important to clean-off thoroughly the whole rifle with a cloth, oiled with gun-oil, no matter what your stock is made from.

Happy Birthday 'young 'un! Hope you have a great Birthday Mac!

Thanks Si and Skot. Oh, she's already got herself down for the spring meet in May Si! And I think you are right, she will be whipping me and my poor old springers into a cocked hat before long...I told her the other night how I will be carrying on with my humble spring rifles...( I still like to think we spring-rifle men earn our marksmanship with a bit of work and know-how ) Helen has a natural aptitude for shooting, as I think, a lot of ladies do, I agree with you there Skot. If they only would only stop getting in their husband faces over him having a shooting hobby or something a

redial, Tomburras thank you both gentlemen. It'll be a lovely thing to share with her, teach her properly, safely and correctly and for us to enjoy into our old age together. At least she will know why I will come home with another rifle or scope or both (Diana 54 Airking is next on the cards for me! ) I read a lot of posts from lads who have a wife or partner with no interest at all and are not supportive of their fellas sport. That must be tough to live with sometimes. I'm honestly very lucky in this respect. (Mind you, I have a secret yearning to build me a model railway layout and I k

Hw 98 + 77K Good Plink (And Bonus)
pianoman replied to Skot Ruthless Teale's topic in General Airgun Discussion
I reckon you are absolutely sorted for quality guns and top shooting now Skot. These are two beautiful rifles you have here. -
Hi Max. On FAC tuned-air, rifles I have a 127 metre shot on a rabbit's head with my .22 HW80 about a year ago and 114 metres onto a rabbit's neck with a .177 FAC-Tuned TX200 I used to own. Really smacked it over hard and dead outright. About the maximum these rifles can shoot with predictable accuracy to. My best sub-12 ft/lbs shot was an 84-metre headshot on a rabbit with my HW77 .22 a couple of years ago. I'd been pushing it out on beer cans and bottlecaps with my mildots and the rabbit appeared at where I had been previously shooting these items a few days before. Over it went! This is

Shooting A Theoben Eliminator.
pianoman replied to Rimfireboy!'s topic in Rifle Reviews, Technical Help and Tips
Not a rifle you will find popular in ownership due to it being exclusively FAC-rated only Rimfireboy! I once considered getting one on my ticket but, after trying it out, in both .177 and .22 I found the rifle very heavy on recoil and a potential scope smasher. I would never allow a HAWKE scope on this gun, for certain. I doubt they make a model that would survive the hammering. You will need to uprate your scope to one that can withstand the amount of whiplash recoil the Eliminator dishes out at around 30-ft/lbs. Nikko Stirling or Simmons would be your best bet here. And you would have -
Thinking Of Getting A 2Nd Rifle
pianoman replied to dangerousdan's topic in General Airgun Discussion
That Webley's a much better recommendation than the Hatstand 60 S. Mary But saving up for a quality HW, Diana or Air Arms is a sound idea too. Honestly. Mike. I'm baffled why you still insist on recommending this utter pile of shit? I've had a good long look at this rifle you are so fond of, and it fails on every possible level of quality, accuracy and consistency. Cheap? I would refuse to accept one for free and anyone using it against live creatures is being irresponsible for humane despatch of the animal. As are you for recommending this rubbish, as such. Simon If you read the o -
Hi Scorp. A fault with any rifle is not a standard feature throughout that maker's range. Go find a gunshop where you can visit and ask to try one out is your best answer.

Seriously and sensibly now. yards is a hell of a distance to focus your shot on something as small as a rabbit's head. And it will likely be moving before your pellet reaches it. A .177 or even a .22 pellet will do it, at least in theory but, it's an exceptional distance if this is to be a normal shooting range. Do you actually have permission to enter and shoot in the fields that rabbits are seen from? Your question comes over as though there is a physical and, possibly legal barrier to getting closer than -yards. There is always a way to reduce the distances on land you have permiss

The Hlf Davids Versus The Hft Goliaths (Meet 3 At Odp).
pianoman replied to zini's topic in General Airgun Discussion
I'm genuinely angry reading this. I feel that people I genuinely respect and care about have been insulted to be honest. Darryl, I know at least, has driven a hell of a distance and others from other far away areas too. I came down from Yorkshire for the Sunday HFT but at least I was with Helen and staying at her place in Chippenham 40-miles away. There are shooting grounds about the country that would welcome a group of shooters like ours, with everything tip-top and in proper working order for a lot less than this miserable money-grubbing something-for-nothing bugger at ODP has held his -

Well, the result of that lack of care will be a downturn in customers who will either hunt out 2nd hand bargains or turn to PCPs. Anyone new to the sport and reading this thread would be thinking twice about parting with several hundred quid for a gamble on buying a rifle that may be brilliant, or, bloody poor as pants and needing a rebuild. When I think about it, very little or nothing of my HW77 and HW97K rifles internals are still original factory fitted parts. They are brilliant shooting machines. But it took a lot of extra work and replacement parts to get them that way.
-
It must be true Skot. They just don't seem to care anymore about what it took to get them such a glowing reputation. The rifles are fabulous. They really are. But you have to practically rebuild them to get them to where they should be at the factory gate. Give Andy here a chat and bung him a few pints and he'll turn it into the masterpiece it really is mate. Simon

bwfc has it right. I have been a devout, loyal customer to Weihrauch over many years. But in recent times, my loyalty to this brand has been severely tested. Not just my HW97KT that needed fettling and tuning but, witnessing on Weihrauch owners club forum what other people have been sold. I've sent emails to Weihrauch about their declining standards and my dismay at seeing a fine company go down the swannee with deplorable quality standards. The HW77 reached perfection years ago. How hard can it be to leave it the fcuk alone and just keep component quality up???? Still awaiting their r
