Bsa R10 Mk2 Or Daystate Huntsman Regal?
pianoman replied to hillbilly1975's topic in Rifle Reviews, Technical Help and Tips
Seems all guns these days have some issue or other that needs finishing or fixing. It's the fact that my partner Helen has a brilliant Daystate Huntsman Classic and the looks of the Regal that won me over to buying one for myself. I can't speak for every Regal owner but mine is a stunning performance rifle with its Airtech regulator. Like Rabid says of his, mine too will punch the bullseye out all day long. If the HW510 is experiencing problems with magazine and pellet indexing then, I'd go back to your original question...Which of the two... AND BUY THE DAYSTATE REGAL. -
Terrible news to read. I've lost a good friend from my RAF days to a bad smash on his bike seven years ago. I still miss his company and friendship and wonder....My sincerest condolences and sympathy. It's not the bikes so much, as too many blind and brainless pillocks allowed to drive cars, for my liking.

Thought It Was About Time Bella Hit The Farm

She looks a beautiful little dog Jimmy. I hope many happy years ahead for you all with her. She'll soon start taking her retrieving more seriously. Letting her grow up as a pup is the most important thing for now. She'll know when it's time to mean shooting business with you mate. Lovely to see Nicola up and enjoying the sea air too. Love from us to you both and Ethan. Simon and Helen. -
Bsa R10 Mk2 Or Daystate Huntsman Regal?
pianoman replied to hillbilly1975's topic in Rifle Reviews, Technical Help and Tips
Hi Hillbilly1975. Can't say anything much about BSA PCP guns except BSA are not the great British rifles they once were. Gamo of Spain owns and builds them and the standards generally are not all that great. But, get a good one and you'll have a really good one. from what some lads I know say of theirs. Daystate Regal is a very elegant and beautiful rifle but you'll find it needs a regulator to be nmde for one. Mine is a stunner and is .177 cal. It is a rabbit killer with JSB Heavies. Its Harper valve system is only good at 150-160 bar and above that, it comes in underpowered. Expec -
Back On The Cheap Ammo Again!
pianoman replied to secretagentmole's topic in Rifle Reviews, Technical Help and Tips
Hi Mike. If you are finding it hard to locate just the right pellet for your rifles, give ebay a look (Yeah I know, dreaded fleabay!) and put your choices of pellet into the searches box and see if you come up with "Sundon Model Shop" (sundonmodelshop) or Volmyr. These stores have just the pellet you'll be wanting. Give them a look-over. Cheers mate. Simon -
Now this looks a nice set up BN. What precisely is the model of your Photon night vision scope, and what sort of price? I'd like to set my Daystate Regal up with this unit. Best regards. Simon.

Seriously Mark, I don't think you'll have a moment's regret for buying one in .177 or .22 caliber. I'm thinking of the same as a compliment to this .22 version of mine. Air Arms seem to source some particularly superb barrels for their spring rifles in .177. I had a TX200HC for years in .177 that was bloody amazingly accurate; and Philpot had one recently that was a joy to shoot with. I think you'd be really as delighted as I am with mine. Albeit I've been salivating after one for so long now. The thing just oozes classical sporting rifle, butt to muzzle. It's with a heavy heart that I

Thanks DJ! Getting along with it like a house on fire! It doesn't always work out when something you've longed for, finally, comes into your possession but this Pro Sport has really proved itself to be all I ever hoped it would be. It's as precision-accurate and as delightful to own and shoot as it is truly, a stunningly beautiful rifle to look at. I've wanted and waited for thirty years or so since I first clapped eyes on the Pro Sport at its first launch, to finally have one of my own and it has lived up to every great thing I've read about them. And it has none of the negatives that

Nice to see you back here Chris. Always enjoyed your writings and a spell of shooting the woodies over the stubble is something I particularly enjoy at this time of the year. Lovely rifle you have here too. Always makes me wonder about where we've actually hit the bird that it flies off and covers a fair bit of distance before it drops dead in the field. I'm sure I've hit a few woodies dead in the head and still they take off and fly before they drop..... That looks a really well-chosen hide you set yourself up in, over the deeks on a lovely plot of land. Can't beat a day out like this, c

Gentlemen all. Hi. TBT TINBUM DROP-IN KIT. Well the kit is just the basic £24.99 drop-in model, but the Pro Sport has taken to it like a duck to water! It's smoothing-out now and the rifle has full-power, 11.7 ft/lbs FPE and puts both JSB HEAVY Diablo and Air Arms Diablo Field 5.52mm pellets through the same raggy pellet-hole at 25 metres zero. I've put a Hawke Sidewinder 30 3-12x50 scope with a nice half-mil dot reticle on it for hunting and, while I didn't really get on with it at first, this scope has now, really won me over. On 8xmag and zeroed at 25 metres the 16-grain AA F

YOU BUGGER! Had me good and proper for a moment there Mark! I was wondering how you actually were....Nearly had coffee all over me monitor! Actually, I have the opportunity to go riding again after over 20-odd years since I gave up the saddle. There's a bloody omen here, so, I won't bother going down the stables! I'm too big and too bloody old to go breaking my neck in a fall. I'll stick to four wheels and two legs now on. Oh well, shows we care about you though, don't it! All the best mate. Simon

Yep, a little thing like an Avatar and we're off on one! Back on topic, that Raptor looks and performs really nice. Any downside faults with these? I've not heard a bad thing about them. I remember one Falcon made, it was called a Lighthunter years ago. Looked more like a pistol-in-a-stock than a rifle. With a light, skeletal stock and short ultra carbine barrel. Terrific little guns anyway. Congratulations jasper looks like you've got yourself a cracking good gun. And a brilliant permission to use it on!

Come on now gentlemen. There is a world of difference between shooting controlled numbers of game for wildlife conservation and keeping the local folks fed and their ecnonomies afloat with the revenues raised from game shooting licences.... And poaching. The real scourge of the problem with endangering numbers of precious animals like Elephant and Rhino. Take your anger out on the Chinese, they are the biggest consumers for Rhino horn and Elephant Ivory. Without their vast sums of money, the poaching industry wouldn't be so industrious...

Been Offered A Weihrach Hw100, What Price?
pianoman replied to kenj's topic in General Airgun Discussion
Read it and weep lads because you ain't going to hear of a bargain like that in a short while! -
Well shot Mark. It's always good to see a man take a pride in his shooting and his rifle.

For Sale .177 Hw97Kt Synthetic - Rifle Only.
pianoman replied to LuckOrJudgement's topic in Gun's and Rifle's
Don't offer it to a dealer mate, unless they offer a really good trade-in deal on a better rifle for your needs. They have to sell it on at a profit so, they cannot offer much around 200 quid tops. Sounds like a cracking rifle mind! -
They were made in Sweden because FREDERIK AXELSON ( I'm uncertain how you spell his surname, but he is the man behind FX airguns!) designed and built the rifle for Webley at his FX Airguns factory. It was very successful in its day, becoming "Airgun Of The Year. 2000" Nice-handling with a rounded stock that felt nice and comfy on your forehand and a sweetly swept wrist. I nearly bought one for myself as a first PCP back then, but, stuck with my HW80 .22 as this was establishing itself with me as a hell of an air rifle.

I had an arse of a neighbour of mine call the police when I'd been plinking/zeroing in my garden. Nice lass in uniform at the door asks if I've been shooting an air rifle in the garden? I said, "In MY garden, yes. So we have a chat. She says "I just want your side of the story before we do something silly!". So I show her my rifle (Daystate Regal .177 on this occassion) Chrono test sheet from Daystate, and into the garden where she can see the targets plus backstops like the paving slab behind the target board. the banked earth mound behind that. Nothing that a pellet would have the s

How much rifle would you consider is value for money Tony? You want a rugged breakbarrel? That's going to be a springer; and the best all-round rugged and reliable breakbarrel spring rifle bargain I could think of looking for, would be a Weihrauch HW80. Either full-size long barrel or the Karbine version is lovely. Beautiful build quality, built like a German Tiger tank and supremely accurate with a quality-end Hawke or better quality Nikko Stirling scope. You don't need a mod on a springer they won't make a ha'porth of difference really to dampen the sound, when they do nothing to si

First Evening Out With The Newly Tuned/fettled Aa Pro Sport .22
pianoman replied to pianoman's topic in Airgun Hunting
Cheers Stecorr. You won't be disappointed by the result with your Pro Sport once it's in and running. Let us know how you get on with it. -
Oh I could write a bloody book on this one. I've had two very beautiful wives that turned into cows and some steaming love affairs and one nighters that have all come and gone and left me thousands of £££ of debts to clear off with em'... and my HW80 .22 went through most it all with me and is still here, with my other rifles aquired along the way, loyal, and as faithful as ever, whenever I want her. More then any bloody 'bird' I've had for sure. I've even had the "It's the guns or me!" ultimatum ..... Guess what happened there then! When you are heartbroken and in the shit deep ove

Tell em it's a woodcarving (True. The stock is!) Or the front fork assembly for a bike. Worked for me!

First Evening Out With The Newly Tuned/fettled Aa Pro Sport .22
pianoman replied to pianoman's topic in Airgun Hunting
Thank you to everyone for such kind and generous feedback comments here. I've been very lucky with all my rifles and this Pro Sport was built superbly well at Air Arms factory. With nothing of the issues I've been hearing about from other less-happy Pro Sport customers. The safety catch engages and works every time. Trigger is set to perfection and the underlever latches up and stays up. No sag or droop whatsoever. Mitch ALL the lads here are brilliant chaps y'know. And thanks mate, the bloody rifle's absolutely formidable. And it looks formidable as it is beautiful in its rich deep walnut
