I agree morton, my lad was not half the dog at 12 months as he is now at 3. They look the part and are plenty fast enough at 12 months but its not all there yet. I had read allot about the deerhound cross having a particular disliking for charlies but hadn't seen anything in my "pup" to support this. Until it clicked, at about 2..

Woolwich; The Govt Get To Work ......

While I seem to be flavour of the Month I will break my silence for the last time on this matter I said that I do not find anything here in the UK that prevents me ar my family following our Faith which is Islam. As Sharia l;aw is part of Islamic Fiqr basically the law of Islam and as far as Muslims are concerned a Law of Allah then it is part of our Faith How various people interpret this Law is for them to answer and for them to accept responsibility for if they dont understand it they go to a Mullah or islamic Scholar who interprets it for them this is where the problem arises some of thes -

Struggling For Permission
DeerhoundLurcherMan replied to barnesyboy86's topic in General Airgun Discussion
Farmers are a weird bunch, when I drive into their yards or whatever I get the impression that they think I'm up to no good. You can only keep trying, you only need one to say yes and you might bag a thousand acres.......Good luck -

.22 Allowed But .17Hmr Not Allowed
DeerhoundLurcherMan replied to Beefbeefbeef's topic in Rimfire, Centrefire & Shotguns
I had my FAC interview a couple of weeks ago. I had originally applied for a HMR, but during the interview the FEO basically said no chance and said its more like .22lr or nothing due to lack of experience..... I argued my point based on half of my permission is literately full of flint and I don't want any ricochets. He said its rubbish. So unlikely with the .22lr that its almost not worth worrying about, He said even if it did it wont matter because it wont come back towards me and I wont be shooting near anything that could be damaged........ The reason he didn't like the first time -
Fac Application Process
DeerhoundLurcherMan replied to 03milesR's topic in Rimfire, Centrefire & Shotguns
Why would a long wait put you off applying?? I sent off in march, had the interview a couple of weeks ago, land checks being done next week.... If anything the long wait should encourage you to get it done sooner the better...... I'm in Kent also. FAO said about 3 months. -
The closest I have called one was honestly about 10 or 15 yards and it was still coming, and when you have called it in from over 100 yards it feels like its standing on your toes!! With my hand, dark windy night....

I was in magistrates 3 times and crown court 4 times last year over the same incident, I was accused of assault. Which was down to a mate I was with. I was found not guilty. My FAO was on the phone once a month after the initial visit, and having told him my old certificate went through the wash my new one was in my hand a week after I was cleared of all charges. But he never took my certificate or guns away. Every case is different, and so is every police force.........So no one on here will be able to tell you for sure. But I think you will get them back. Might be different if yo

Just Had My Fac Interview
DeerhoundLurcherMan replied to DeerhoundLurcherMan's topic in Rimfire, Centrefire & Shotguns
The reason he knocked me down to the .22lr was due to lack of experience and gave me valid reasons why the .22lr is a much safer calibre for a first time applicant to learn with, without a mentor.... The land didn't come into it... -
Smear Campaign Has Started Against Ukip.
DeerhoundLurcherMan replied to redial's topic in General Talk
Me and the misses will be voting UKIP on Thursday. -
I put down .17HMR and .223 but he said no chance due to lack of experience. He recommended a .22 rimmy to start with. I said fair enough on the centre-fire but my argument for the HMR was that the ground is full of flint and the .22 might bounce. He said its almost not worth worrying about. He said even if you do get the odd flyer it will be OK because you wont be shooting anywhere near anything where this will matter (fair point). He would rather me have a .22 because of how flat the HMR shoots and if it missed a target it would fly alot further before coming down on its own accord. So

Firearms Interview
DeerhoundLurcherMan replied to DeerhoundLurcherMan's topic in Rimfire, Centrefire & Shotguns
No, not really. What happens if a mentor is suggested and I don't know of anyone suitable?? I wouldn't be that fussed if I was only granted the HMR to start with..So maybe that will be on the cards without having a mentor? and go for the .223 later. Cheers -
Firearms Interview
DeerhoundLurcherMan replied to DeerhoundLurcherMan's topic in Rimfire, Centrefire & Shotguns
Cheers, will the land be checked the same day if it is not already cleared? -
Got my FAC interview Tuesday morning, I bolted my gun and ammo safes in today. Had my SGC for about 4 years now. I have applied for a .17 HMR and a .223 both with mods, I submitted a tad over 1000 acres of land. Could someone give me an example of "good reason" with regards to owning firearms. Also will the land checks be done at the same time if the land is not already cleared? Cheers
