A Few Pictures, Zeroing My .22Lr
DeerhoundLurcherMan replied to DeerhoundLurcherMan's topic in Rimfire, Centrefire & Shotguns
I will leave the trigger as it is for now, how many rounds through the gun before the trigger beds in? (if its going to). I'm just off to get some Eleys now....Ill post up a comparison between winchesters and eleys to see which my cz spits the best. Cheers... -
A Few Pictures, Zeroing My .22Lr
DeerhoundLurcherMan replied to DeerhoundLurcherMan's topic in Rimfire, Centrefire & Shotguns
Triggers get very personal. My .22lr CZ Silhouette is original and fine, my last CZ WMR was fine, my latest CZ 452 HMR and WMR were awful and have had work. (my .22lr Magtech 7022 Semi has a trigger that feels like two pieces of sandpaper grating on each other and the pull lasts a fortnight, but the groups are remarkably good). My lads CZ .22lr Style is not good to me but he loves it. Don't rush into anything, get used to distances, ammo, quarry anatomy, terminal effect, scopes, reticles, etc., etc., before you go making wholesale changes to the gun! ATB! Advice appre -
Friend Using My Firearm.......
DeerhoundLurcherMan replied to DeerhoundLurcherMan's topic in Rimfire, Centrefire & Shotguns
I thought it sounded odd. Maybe he misheard him. I'm a new fac holder and unsure. Might give the fao a ring tomorrow. -
My friend who I lamp with is thinking of applying for his FAC and joined BASC he emailed them to ask a few questions and they phoned him back. He wanted to know if he could use my .22lr under my supervision on my permission, to gain experience. The chap who phoned him back said he could if I owned the land, but not if it was owned by someone else. He said he used to be a chief firearms officer and was really helpful. Anyone any info to add? Cheers...

A Few Pictures, Zeroing My .22Lr
DeerhoundLurcherMan replied to DeerhoundLurcherMan's topic in Rimfire, Centrefire & Shotguns
Just standard trigger at the moment but will definitely look into it as I noticed a couple of shots where I "pulled off", and I knew it was off target before it got there, if that make sense. Cheers... -
A Few Pictures, Zeroing My .22Lr
DeerhoundLurcherMan replied to DeerhoundLurcherMan's topic in Rimfire, Centrefire & Shotguns
Of course, the whole set up was just over £800. But that was everything, rifle, scope ,mounts, moderator, ledray 800 gun lamp, hard case, bipod, sling,10 shot mag.....and some ammo. All brand new.... Cheers... Sounds like a good enough deal you got there. That seems a fair price for what you got. I actually paid just over £700 They punched the amount in wrong on the card reader.......Of course i will settle up with them next time i go in..... -

Thanks for your input Deker, so are you saying that head shots are not crucial and that my groups at 75m are good enough for body shots? Cheers..... -

DeerhoundLurcherMan replied to DeerhoundLurcherMan's topic in Rimfire, Centrefire & Shotguns
I agree, I was thinking the same last night I would only be confident to shoot accurately up to 60m (for now anyway). I will try out some other similar ammo perhaps some eleys. Understood fully about not adjusting the scope, just trying for better grouping. It will be interesting to see if I get good groups at 75m. (will report my findings). I will also try some shorter distances with the winnies. Cheers... -

DeerhoundLurcherMan replied to DeerhoundLurcherMan's topic in Rimfire, Centrefire & Shotguns
Indeed I am, them stingers had me worried! but after much research on the web 99% of shooters say they are not worth the extra velocity and power with the trade off being not as accurate and much louder. So I will concentrate my efforts on perfecting the use of subs. -

I just zeroed my new cz452 .22lr and thought i would share my results and post a few pics... Heres zeroed at 45m (50yards) Heres another at 45m (50yards) Then at 60m (65yards) with 1 milidot hold over Then 75m (82yards) with 2 milidots holding over These are the 40grain winchester subs.... And finally the result of a scaffold board which the subs were ripping through at 75m (82yards). There was a slight breeze but overall very happy with the groupings for my first attempt........But welcome any advice.... Cheers.....

Thanks for all the advise...... I think I will get a few boxes of Eley and Winchester 40grain subs to see which she likes best, and zero at 50 yards which according to Winchester ballistic calculator means ill be zeroed at 20, half inch high at 30 and 40, obviously zeroed again at 50 and learn the drop off up until 100 yards. and practise!!! Will crack off the rest of these cci stingers i have here aswell... Hopefully take some photos and report back my findings.... Cheers....

First Morning With New M2 ( Added Pic )
DeerhoundLurcherMan replied to billbroon's topic in Pigeon Shooting & Decoying
Nice gun. Never shot one but love the look of the comfortec........ -
Got my FAC on Friday, so first thing Saturday morning I bought a new cz452 silhouette, put 50 winchester subs(40g 1065fps) through it and got it close to being sighted in, just playing really. I then put some cci stingers(32g 1640fps) through it and they was shooting 3 inches high at 50 yards. Didn't try any other distances as I didn't have long but id be interested to know if anyone sights in with subs and can accurately use supersonic rounds at any distance? Or does anyone just use supersonic rounds all the time.?.. Obviously I have already leaned the subs drop more, are slower and much

I got my firearms certificate today for a .22lr. I thought I should post this for anyone who is currently waiting for their certificate or who may read this in the future and wonder how long they can expect to wait from Kent police. 10 weeks total. 8 since interview. -
Summer Time Bloody Dog Walkers .!!
DeerhoundLurcherMan replied to bird's topic in Lurchers & Running Dogs
Its the jumping up that's the problem. I don't take a lead with me and hardly see anyone, if I do my dog has a little sniff and that's it... It doesn't bother me my dog meeting other dogs while we're out, but if one jumped up at me I would do the owner the favour of teaching it not to.. Saying that if mine jumped up I would have him on a lead. But I understand the situation of him being a pup and the kid holding the other dog up. Mine used to jump up at me when I got home when he was a pup, but i soon put a stop to that. ATB -
Kingspan and cellotex is mega expensive. I would stuff loft roll in between the studs and line it with a dpm (damp proof membrane). Also if you build it out of studwouk, have 3 courses of bricks up first to keep the timber off the ground... And if you ply the sleeping boxes use wbp ply not the softwood shuttering ply... Build it right, build it once.
