  1. Like the sound of that cross. You should have a good choice of working whippets to use but 1st cross collie whippet might be different. Good looking bitch that. Hope you enjoyed it down here in sunny Devon. ATB.
  2. If you enjoy it then just keep on doing what your doing. It's 'supposed' to be a bit of fun at the end of the day. Some take it far too serious but let them crack on if that's their thing. Others like to prove their dogs in other ways. Each to their own!! As said sometimes the winner has been picked before you go in the ring. ATB
  3. If that's the cross he's after then no Jedi mind trick required joe!!! It would be a no brainer if he's after a racey bull x
  4. Yep have a look at the mist thread. They seem to be what you are looking for
  5. Come on Kev......you are taking the misses and kids along......as if you are going to get to pick!!!
  6. Cracking day out. And a nice looking dog you got there.
  7. Cheers D. Ideally need one closer in case of emergencies. Will keep the one I use now for general stuff as she's good as gold.
  8. Anyone know of a decent runnning/working dog vet in the Honiton/Axminster/Seaton area?? Thanks
  9. Anyone know a decent vet in the Axminster/Seaton/Honiton are south east Devon?? Thanks
  10. Thanks for the comments. I will be posting some of his progress. ATB
  11. She was a lovely pup mate would be good to see how she is doing and turned out. Sure she will pick things up just fine!!
  12. A totally new cross for me and despite what people have said about the saluki bit I can't complain. I am pretty inexperienced myself and he has been fine. Dean did a cracking job to start these pups off and to be honest I could have done a lot more with him but he's doing fine and picking things up no bother. Looking forward to this season with him.
  13. Hi mate. My lad has hit 24" now and is getting strong. He's filling out nicely and has done well on the couple of outings with the ferrets. He has had a few day time rabbits when we have been out for walks. He has been fairly easy to train not that I have pushed it and I reckon he will be perfect for what I want. He's bold, fast and a cracking dog around people and the house. He's finally calming down and not messing about so much!! He will be out on the lamp soon enough. ATB
  14. Cheers D. He's had a couple before but never really run them like that. Good news on you job mate!
  15. Decided to go to a local spot tonight and have a few casts and see if there were any bass biting. It's a quiet spot so decided to take the hound. No luck with the fishing but on the way back to the car he managed to spot a rabbit. Didn't think he was going to get it but he turned it before the hedge and after another turn he got it!! Text book retrieve and I was chuffed to bits. It's good to see things coming together. Not a bad fishing trip after all!! Pics below. Saluki collie grew 12 months. Thanks for looking. Happy dog!!
  16. I'd second that, I've seen Blue, bit of a show dog lol, should make a very handy freezer filla, if the rest are coming on as well then it's a good litter so far. I think you will find he came last!! Same to you. Cheers for being my on call vet!! See you soon. This was a cracking litter. Can't wait to see how the others have done.
  17. Phil. Thanks for the comments. And as above thanks for all your advice!
