  1. good to see someone else using the idea, another thing you could do maltenby, would be to fix some clear perspex directly under your large door, inside, and maybe 6" to the opening side, stopping them from wire climbing when you use the big door for cleaning etc
  2. no, he's right, everything from aussie land is gay
  3. make sure you get batteries in it, and start practising with it NOW, try finding the collars in the garden/park etc, get used to fitting the collars to your ferts, and yes, they can be done up tighter than you think,
  4. your mate's talking out of his ar**, otherwise we'd be seeing large numbers of ferrets being culled and an increase in sables, where as most call is for silvers,
  5. no worries mate, hope they do you proud, were keeping a few from the same litter too, so were have to compare their ferreting skills later in the season
  6. he probably wants them for mice, used to get them on sale in the cage and aviary paper
  7. went through exactly the same mate with my youngest, although they turned up while I was at work and a lodger let them in I panicked and paid them myself £500 only to find out later, they could'ent touch jack $hite, if they are showed "the room of said person" and all thats in there is a bed etc, presume its your name of the rent book after that he moved out, but I had countless phone calls chasing him for money, I just replied that I didnt have a forwarding address, and there fault for lending him the money, it never "blacklisted" the house, just him, thankfully now, 5yrs on he's seen th
  8. dont worry, they wont eat each other
  9. which shows why you should keep records of your breeding programme, its then only when an unknown outcross is brought in, that you cant be sure, our sandie hob outcross (unknown parentage) was paired to a polecat jill, bred from a silver and albino the litter produced, albino's, silvers, sandies and polecats
  10. exactly right mate, only put it in a few days before looking after richies lot, before then you had to be bloody quick, lure them all inside with ferret paste, then run round, open the large door and climb in, and stick a kids rubber ball into the connecting pipe to stop them rushing out, although they soon cottoned on how to pull the ball out of the pipe, with the small hatch it is easy to place food in the outside court without fear of trapping feet/ferrets in the door at the moment theres a piece of ply screwed over the connecting pipe keeping them in the inside court, before its open u
  11. no I hav'ent, thats made me get a sinking feeling
  12. your right SH, Im crap at that, you should have seen it before though, thats a deffinate improvement, floated it, then brushed over with a wet brush
  13. I love using muffs, when shooting from the hip sorry richie, could'ent resist that one
  14. it had crossed my mind, will probably wait and see what happens, as the bowl is quite shallow, if I see them having problems with no grip, I'll either silicone some rubber to the edges, or some rocks for them to clamber up, failing that, maybe one of those little aussie lifeguard hats and red trunks, and promote a fert to "lifeguard"
  15. well, after getting up late with rolfe on the doorstep, waiting to pick some silver jills up, had a good chat, then got stuck in to insulating "wasps" workshop, finishing that, I wanted to get started re developing the outside ferret court as it was empty, after having "richies" ferrets in it for 10 days, when I built this, it was a bit of a rush job, and I always regretted not putting in a drain to ease cleaning/hosing out, plus I had picked up a very shallow butler sink, that I wanted to fit in the court too, to be used as a swimming pool for the ferts, wanted to fit a waste pipe into it,
  16. richie, take the advice of jasper carrot, a headlight, shotgun and swivel chair
  17. Ive got 5 fibreglass longnet poles you can have mate, although you may need a few more for a 50yd'er, get a lift of ya old man, or wait till the next ferreting trip out
  18. how longs your net jack?
  19. no worries mate, was a pleasure, was good chatting to you, looking forward to our next ferreting trip, your reply to the "screwdriver remark" keeps making me laugh
  20. as stated, unless they have flea's, why do it, as kitts they arn't going to be put down burrows just yet are they, in which case no rabbit flea's if your worried about cat/dog flea's then treat the host animal, flea's from other animals cannot breed on a different host species, ie a ferret
  21. no mate, a mk3 wont pick up a mk1 collar, are you sure you have the batteries in the correct way, 1 points up, the other down, the locator shouldent be making loads of niose when switched on, unless its near the collar, (or within 16ft) so put the collar ar least that much away, then see if the led's and higher pitched bleeps take you too the collar have you e mailed the seller yet?
  22. right, have tidied this post up, its a "for sale" post, not a 2 page discussion on his sales patter
  23. its a con mate, unless you had a duplicate e mail in "your e bay" when signing in have had a few of them myself, just report them then bin them
  24. richie; just a thought for a new money spinner, plane ride's for pet ferrets, this time next year, we'll be millionaires
