do a search on these pages mate, loads have been written on the mk3, plus read the instructions a few times, it'll start to sink in
-
yes you can, but only to the same length as in depth, ie, 16ft or (mk1) 8ft, plus if its above ground, then its probably moving, and I find locators can then be a little irratick, if the ferret is "moving", another reason Im using the loca8tor lite in conjunction with my mk3, as it gives you 400ft line of sight detection

Ive got one, think its the mutts nutts

its spelt MONTHS you can ferret anytime of the year, but ferreters generally do it in the winter months, as with no young rabbits about, your more likely to get rabbits leaving the warren on seeing a ferret, rather than in the summer, staying down, trying to protect the young, plus summertime, most things grow, so its harder to net up holes, may even miss a few, winter, most things die back, easier to net, winter, less chance of lay-ups/kills underground meaning less digging as you both new members, asking the same questions, take a few hours to read back through the pages on the ferretin

if you have never used a locator before, then go for a mk3, most people that own'ed a mk1 then tried going onto a mk3 hated it, because its a totally different way of using, the mk1 is a good locator, but times have moved on, if it was such a great locator, why have we got a mk3 you'll see lots of view points on the different locators, my advice would be deciede what one to go for, get it, then try it out, before rushing out to change things, lots of people dont like the nylon collars, but then again, alot do, including myself

I dunno driod, Im a full time worker, with around 29 ferts at present, and mine get plenty of handling
-
well locking a thread, seems silly, most members would have read it before its locked, and if its just sitting there, its taking up space that could be used by a newer article most stuff gets deleated on my arrival home from work around 4am, so members should have read it the night before, if they hav'ent read it, then they dont know about it
-
either they run their course, or start going off track to the posters question/answer/story or they can be asked to be removed by the poster or as already mentioned they may, or an added post may be breaking the rules is their any post in particular your referring too

dont your legs get tired, chasing deer
-
dont take this the wrong way mate, but if you keep missing, then your not ready to be shooting at live quarry, show the rabbits a bit more respect as a wounded rabbit dying down a hole, is not something we want to be seen as doing on the hunting life practise is the key, what distance have you set the sights up at? learn your rangefinding, when you can hit targets pellet for pellet, your ready to shot live quarry, until then though

I know naff all about computers, but after connecting an x box to the computer, I'd expect it to be the same way, via a router or ethenet cable

good luck jazz, your right about using more than one fert at a time, they should be ok, but if any of the hobs your taking are still sexually willing and able, they will try it on underground with the jills, so use jills first, if nothings bolting, remove the jills and try putting a hob down, as its your first time out, you dont want too many underground at the same time, if your see'ing the ferret come up and go down holes, then leave the locator in ya bag, its only really when you havent seen a fert for 20 minutes or so that you want to start using it, keep quite while waiting, as too much n

was'ent meant like that make, just seems silly putting up a post asking, when there's one already there at the top of the page, with all the info your asking for,

so yesterday Im out at the ferret courts, when I get a phone call, guy asking me if Im a rescue centre for ferts, seems the pet shop that I had given my number too "for anyone after kitts" had given him my number, after a bit of umming and arr'ing, I said ok, bring her round, Ill find her a home, so he say's do you want the cage as well, a hutch Im thinking, ok mate, Ill have it.... anyway, they turn up couple of hours later, with a car full of gear and a shoebox, inside of which is "bow" an albino jill bout 1yr old, and as tame a ferret as I've ever seen, their little 6yr old girl was pul

from this place mate; www.attacc.com they recomended the tanning kit that goes into a solution and you "dunk" the skins in, full instructions etc, looks good, although I still need to get a large lidded container (brewing shop probably) also got some oil which although they said wouldent be needed with the kit, supposed to make the skin/fur go super soft, and as my missus is a leatherworker, thought she may be able to make up some pellet pouches or something, came to around £35 inc post

after gutting 37 rabbits, I dont want to drive home with hands covered in blood and smelling of rabbit shit, good on ya if you like that smell no mate, the rimmy does that, start squeezing just below the rib cage and keep moving your grasp backwards, takes a bit of getting used to, but first the guts pop into the leg area, then rip out the skin after a bit more pressure, its all magwitch's fault, he forgot the knife the good thing though, I just got a tanning kit, so have plenty of un damaged skins to practise on
-
oi you said you were going to photoshop my bald spot out you also forgot to mention, your "popping" and spraying stubby with guts technique

More Unusual Places For Rabbit Cages
stubby replied to Rolfe's topic in Snaring, Trapping & Pest Control
started reading that, and thought "here we go" but have to admit, made me chuckle -
will, can only presume, that while typing the above you were either pissed needing a trip to specsavers in a rush, cos needed the loo
-
with all the single ferreting guys here, Id be careful if I were you mentioning "fany"
-
jazz, turn the unit on and as you say, at the 15ft mark, anything between that is detectable, so even if its only an 8ft collar, and you ferret is at 2ft it will still "knock" your then home in on the point its knocking at, by slowly turning the wheel down, so you'll eventually be able to place the box on the soil with it knocking, but moving it away will stop it, now simply look at the wheel to see what depth the ferret is at its easier to do it, than describe it
