  1. after ferreting on wensday gone, thought we'd try some bunny burgers, using a recipe from river cottage, so took all the best bits of a couple of rabbits, and put them through a blender, 1kg of rabbit, 250g of sausage meat, tablespoon of mixed herbs, 1 fine chopped onion, mix altogether, and hay-presto, tasted well nice, have another 6 in the freezer, with more on the agenda
  2. stubby

    Man fined

no, your wrong, as many others are, pest species can be shot, if there is good reason too, but shooting one in your back garden, is mostly against the law, example; I have the certification and authority to shoot as many feral pidgeons as I want on london underground property, reason they are a health risk to the general public, the droppings are slippery around passengers/platforms/tracks yet shoot them in my garden, £1000 fine per bird, cant use the same excuse
  3. sticky boards, we use them alot on the underground, place maybe 50 in a line along a platform, sometimes you can catch 40 plus, other times 2 if used correctly, the rodent normally dies once stuck, as they cant expand the lungs to breath, so the "bop" on the head aint neccessary, far easier to simply fold the board in half
  4. if its fully working, and at a price that seems reasonable to you, then go for it, dont know if a mk3 will work with it, but a mk1 wont,
  5. just shows you, theres lots of newcomers to the forum and/or trapping, but how many take the time to read up on legalisation, before trying out these ideas
  6. yup, your right, its done, but talking about it on an open forum, only gives others ammunition, Im sure if the site closed down again because of remarks like these, everyone would be on myside
  7. top right of page, you'll see "my controls" click on that, then about half way down on left of page, you'll see "edit" personnal profile
  8. there where netted and let out in the middle of the field for dog to train him up highly Illegal, cant people think before putting up posts/replies like this, its an open forum that ANYONE, police or anti's can read yes, I can deleat it, but would we as mod's then get slatted for deleating posts
  9. plus 2 hours later, and your profile has not been filled in, even though you have read the replies
  10. you have just proved my point on inviting people to my permissions
  11. Ive eaten bush before grand tucker
  12. again, this can only be down to knowing your own ferts, this year and un-expected litter arrived in one of the courts, that housed 5 jills and 3 hobs, I thought about removing the hobs, but as they were ok when I discovered the kitts (2 days old) I thought I'd wait and see what happened, one of the hobs, a castrated albino, became a surrogate mother, and help the jills out tremendously, the other 2 hobs took little or no interest, I eventually removed all the hobs, when the kitts got to around 3 weeks old, as the castrated one was getting too motherly, and moved them every 2 minutes but none
  13. not if you feed enough food, I'd rather be taking out, uneaten rabbit each morning, than seeing it all gone, I've bred 2 mixed litters in the court, this year and last year, both litters were days apart, always feed more than is needed rabbit
  14. so your keeping your fingers crossed, its , NOT a very good rabbit proof fence,
  15. all ferts are different, only you will know your own, Ive had jills seperated whilst giving birth, and also within a court system with 5 plus jills altogether, the un pregnant ones act as aunts to the kitts, just carry on feeding fresh rabbit and fresh drinking water, thats all thats needed
  16. as much as a lover I am of using re-claimed wood whenever building stuff, I'd steer clear of using veneer covered chipboard, as this absorbs water and "blows" very quickly, and yes, drill holes in your sleeping box, ferrets can withstand cold, but heat kills
  17. profile needs filling in

  18. we get lots of would be ferreters, come and go, I doubt very much as a new member you'll get too many offers to share a permission, after all, we know sweet FA about you, after only 1 post, my advice to you, the same as I give any other, be a regular visiter to the forum, put some topics up yourself, put answers to others posts, join in and get known, fill out your profile fully, giving as much info about yourself as possible, including a few pictures of yourself, after time you may, find other members that invite you to their permissions, even if you have none to return the invite you hav
  19. how sure can you be, that the fert had a rabbit in a stop end, but kept wandering back and fourth a few feet, giving you the intermitant signal? have you tried the collar in the garden?
