  1. last week a local fox killed a duck and chicken of ours, but left them where they lay, normally I like foxes, but understand the need for control in certain areas, well he/or she has now crossed the line, so I was in the works warehouse, picking up a new van of all things, and asked my manager if I could borrow the fox trap, take it he said, I'll be glad if I never see the back of it, it gets in the way so always willing to help my manager, I'll make sure he never see's it again... its rusty, and the do have a newer one, so all ok, got home and checked it over, quite a good design of tr
  2. dont worry, you;ll grow more if you eat your dinners

    Abcess

have seen a few rabbits with abcesses, but never that big, you probably did the most humane thing for it,
  6. not 100% sure, but its worth a try, dig a hole and bung the collar in, and cover it up, even beter get someone else to do it, so you have to find it, as you dig, keep re checking to see the depth etc
  7. dont do a lot of snaring, but they look wrong, theres no tealers with them, so they look more like a fence snare, but then you wouldent need the wooden stake
  8. I did offer, but was not pm'd on the matter
  9. its only the collar thats been re worked, locator is the same
  10. are you getting these measurements from indoors, or actually when the collar is underground?
  11. so would you say a mk3m is better then a mk3 collar ? The MK3M collar offers an advantage over the MK3 with regards to the switching, so I'll say 'yes'. There shouldn't be any difference in their locating abilities though. K THANKS I HOPE SOME OUTBIDS ME ON THAT THEN SO I CAN GET A MK3M your only bidding on the lacator and 1 collar, so you can get that, then buy more mk3m collars, although mk3 collar £37 mk3m collar £50
  12. the only difference between a mk3m and a mk3, are the collars, the locator itself is the same in both, any number of collars can be used with either, no need to stop at 4, although have thought you wouldent want more than 4 down at a time, if ferreting on your own, I got my mk3 with one collar, for £127 inc free postage, from e bay, so if they are offering the same, I'd say go for it
  13. what operation are you putting the word "cut" too over here, snipped hobs, vasectamized, fire blanks, still get randy and shag each other castrated (no balls) dont get the urge to shag, thus not come into season as you put it, but if I left my castrated, in with my six entire hobs in the summer months, he and all others would get shagged senseless, I cant understand how your saying, yours dont
  14. if your on a budget, look at the ex army gear, best Ive found is german tank drivers stuff, have a pair of over trousers that are like a quilt, fully zipped so you can get on, without taking your boots off, cost me £20 at a ex army market stall, did'nt buy a jacket as already had a deerhunter type
  15. looks ok, get it out there and see if it works
  16. see, its posts like these, that makes me want to dust mine off, bought one quite a few years back at around £500, which Ive since seen in cash convertors at £200 so a bit of depreciation there, but the first time I went, I found a silver penny, that worked out around 850yrs old, never went again, and the detector is sat in its case in a cupboard, for the life of me, I cant find the penny anywhere, but I remember putting it somewhere safe
  17. that all depends on weather this will be a 5 minute wonder, or how much you value your ferts, or respect for your quarry most ferreters would not want to leave an injured or dead rabbit underground, as the whole point of ferreting, is to catch rabbits, without a locator, you'll never know whats been left behind, as your simply wait for the ferret to emerge. having a locator means if a fert hasent shown for a while, a position can be got of where it is underground, a group of us that ferret together, will often "mark" an area, even if the fert shows itself, and then dig down to retreave a
  18. well you wouldent hear would ya, your down a cave
  19. dont you just love the way he pulls his jumper down, so he dont have to "touch" the rabbit
  20. so brad uses rabbits to catch rabbits hey stubby i knew what he meant, but never thought about a remark lol oh, Im an eagle eyed bugger
  21. bollocks, I had a weeks intensive studying away from home, if it was that easy, i would have just turned up on the day, and to be honest mate, if my bosses had said that to me, I'd have told them to stick it
  22. getting them "snipped" wont change them in anyway what-so-ever, just they will fire blanks, therefore useful to get jills out of season, get them castrated will stop the urge, but both would need doing, otherwise an intact hob will still shag a castrated hob, Get them cut, they will work better and smell better. what a load of bollocks, where did you read that, an american publication, work or smell wont change one little bit, unless your referring to having there scent glands removed, a barbaric operation that is not allowed in the uk, seems its ok in other countri
