  1. good news on the permission, certainly gives you a buzz dont it, sorry to hijack ya post, but cant you find where the rabbits are coming from, get the old uns to write a letter of complaint and get ferreting there, Id be very careful leaning out of windows in a comunial area shooting air rifles,
  2. some people can be a bit over cautious with there ferrets, but as already said, if they were cold, they'd go back in, I have a large court, both inside and outside areas, all 15 still sleep outside, body warmth and all that, Im sure they know better than me
  3. your quite right mate, if I were to go for a normal 9 till 5 pestie job, the beauty of working nights, sub contracted to london underground, is the amount of underground certification you need, to get working on platforms and tracks of a night, its crazy, but with the amount of certification I have, that my firm payed for, I could in fact, get a better payed job, but in a different line of work, on the underground nights/contractors, but as pest control becomes a way of life, rather than just a job, I stick with it
  4. stick them together mate, I currently have 7 hobs in the court, they all know their pecking order and get on fine, of course they get sore necks in summer, they are randy gits and will try anything, more than once
  5. old style collars for mk3 can be bought from e bay, inc postage for £37 anything sold as second hand, weather its a day old or longer, you take the price, divide by 3 then times by two, so Id say its worth around £24 but if anyone wants to buy from you, remember to put it in the for sale section, not in here, as it will get deleated,
  6. so brad uses rabbits to catch rabbits
  7. that depends on how good the bosses are, yup I started on 15 grand, but was then put in for, AND PASSED ALL BPCA, SITE PERSON IN CHARGE- LONDON UNDERGROUND PASMA AND IPAF TICKETS- SCAFFOLD AND PLATFORMS FIRST AID ENTRY PERMITS HEALTH AND SAFETY NVQ SAFE USE OF AIRGUNS and the list goes on, Im now on over 26 grand in just over 2yrs, and yup, for a few hours each evening, Im a box checker, a boring part of the job, but it pays the bills
  8. a nieghbour has a weeping willow tree in her garden that she wants rid off, Ive offered to take the chainsaw to it, but just wondered if a willow can be dried and used for logs/firewood, or not, also any other uses
  9. if your willing to sell, it needs a price, this aint an auction site
  10. what locator is this for, mk1,mk3 you need to ad a bit more information
  11. great game cod5 but cod 4 still good online. COD5 is better online, send in the dogs
  12. your looking at it wrongly, taking pest control, and then adding in about trapping etc, fair do's if your pest control is rural, and your pest is rabbit, mole, fox etc, yes you dont need to rely on poisons, but you trying to say, that your losing out to the pestie who works for a big company and drives a shinney van, and your implying, no quailifications needed, if you live in a rural area as a pestie, but only did cockroach jobs, who would be to blame, trouble is alot of pesties want to do "the fun stuff" and leave all the other stuff, to others, yet its those pests that can earn the money so
  13. Id start off with getting a couple of jills, hobs can at times be slow, better used for bolting rabbits that are sitting tight, jills with their speed, get the rabbits moving, also of course, ferrets are comunial animals, far better keeping in groups than a solitary life
  14. COD4 COD5 came out last friday, why arnt you on that

    HAPPY BIRTHDAY

    a late happy birthday tony
  16. its called "the national ferret register" do a google search its £10 now, and its not a gurantee of permission, it just gets your name on the list, so anyone looking for help in free rabbit clearance, will get the list, they can then get in touch, with whoever is nearest to their area, you may find instant success, or you could wait a couple of years, but for the money, its worth being on it, so far Ive picked up quite a few good permissions via it, which has in turn, lead to a few more
  17. it was bitterly cold tony, but well worth getting out, am hoping to check out the other new permission sat 6/12/08 which is over near braintree, by all accounts its ideal longnetting ground, if it comes off, Ill see if you guys are free
  18. nice pics as always pat, think Inan needs a better hat though
  19. dont get your net tangled next time though
  20. Invited ferreter216 along with me and the missus, to one of the new permissions I aquired over chelmsford way, we started off longnetting the road upto the house, no luck there, but we had done this area just a week ago, so moved across the road to the opposite ditch, good fresh dirt and rabbit droppings, but again, drew a blank there, we re boxed the ferts, when there was a squealing about 20ft out in the field, jack ran to investigate and held up a rabbit quickly followed by a weasel running away, but towards us, straight through the net and off into the ditch, Im sure as it ran past me I
