    I,m just theorising again ( too early for big words lol ) but the period of warm weather then cold then warm again may trigger breeding behaviour , like natures built in safegaurd if you see what I mean ?

    that last time we had all that snow I saw two carrion crows kill a magpie, you could see the hunger in the birds eyes also a few years ago I saw a herring gull swallow a live sparrow whole

    what you need is the right mix, a dog which is very quick off the mark , fast up and at them if you like but the dog also needs to sustain this pace when the slips are in the quarrys favour, the best dog I,ve seen round these parts for getting on terms quickly is a sal/grew 25tts,

    is the pup running behind your older dog yelping or is it carrying on toy fighting growling etc ? my whippet cur basicly terrorises my collie cur when they,re having a carry on, its all part of the pup growing up, its learning to run and strike etc but it thinks its play which is perfectly normal The age your pup is at the moment I would wait until September and then start to take the pup ferreting, net all the holes if you can and let the pup grab the bunnys in the nets, this way the pup thinks he is catching the bunnies, builds confidence no end, confidence is what the pup needs at t
