  3. I wouldn,t worry too much bud, as long as you enter the dog properly it should be fine, it may need the odd trip to the vets but what running dog doesn,t at some point in its career, atb
  4. aye I,ve watched the video and I must say I am impressed with the amount of stamina, however to say a grew type won,t kill these hares is a bold statement, how do you know a grew type wouldn,t have killed that hare and done it quicker, up and at them types can also run clever use the angles etc trust me .they dont kill those hares .they are usually blown away and or the hare has beaten em into cover .only saluki hybrid type lurchershave that coursing brain and the physical attributes to get on top of a strong hare like this one and break it and ultimately kill it. if you had done any coursi
  5. don,t believe everything you read bud, there are some types which may be a bit accident prone but thats not the case overall did you get yours from working stock and were the parents accident prone ?

  7. Alright KittleRox pal, the main reason is that there is a few peeps on here that like to make childish comments and remarks to spoil topics, this had started not long into last season, the topic I started concerning the pups was the first post that I have put up in a long while because of that reason, but there's still a lot of decent people on here who I thought that would be interested in that topic, so I put them up and it didn't take long for the hater(s) to strike again pmsl I see your point bud, I think there,ll be a few folk looking forward to reading the pups progress including mys
  8. aye its been a while, kali was an up and at them and was still killing hares at a good age, the land hasn,t changed any since though so can,t see your point ?

  12. thats a fine beast, you still got your black and white dug ?
  13. I wouldn,t call a dog that turns the hare 15/20 times a good one WHY maybe it should of c aught before 15 to 20 turns aye
  14. aye good pics and nice dugs, I,ve got a question for you though Paddy, you,re no new to this site so how come we,re just hearing about your collie whip now, just curious
  15. I wouldn,t call a dog that turns the hare 15/20 times a good one
  16. Come on then............"Whats that???"........ you get the edge of a hard plastic card and push it hard towards the splinter, depends where the splinter is though if it works or no, I learnt it in nam
  17. splinters mate , its no ferreting we,re talking aboot
  18. aye good pics bud, I,m through your way now and again and the foxes come into the mates back garden, the ones I,ve seen are usually in fine nick
  19. U might as well shoot them 2or3turns the sport is about a goodhunt and kill if ur dogis good enough most of the action will be close enough to u nothing gets my heart going more than a good course on a hare mate, thing is I find this hanging back style of the saluki rather tedious, would much rather see a fast up and at them dog put 2 or 3 strikes in then connect, I just find that type more exciting, and also despite what the mighty whin says the land up here ain,t big land, this is Scotland it ain,t flat, after 20/30 seconds the dug and the hare are usualy away over the brow of a hill or aw
  20. casting my mind back as I don,t course hares anymore but if the course lasted more than a minute the dug and hare were usualy well out of sight
  21. have you tried the credit card method ?
  22. I usually just do basic training and breaking to ferrets and livestock untill about 8 months old and then I introduce the pup to ferreting and then lamping about a month or so after, atb
  23. would much rather see a dog kill em quick, two or three twists and turns and then job done, up and at them like the dogs I used to have, whats the point of having a dog that takes 5/6 minutes, you,d need a feckin giro copter to watch the course cause it would be 3 mile away
