    the collie cur I have here will trot and read a hedge sitter before she decides to put the foot down, admittedly it annoys me to an extent but she makes up for it in other ways, its the collie style the op says that she ignores sitters in the middle, sounds as if she,s wed to the other stuff

    good interesting stuff this thread, I have a whippet here and also a collie bull grey lurcher ( only 1/4 grey ) and although I wouldn,t change the whippet in anyway because she,s a right handy marking bushing dog If I had to choose I would go for the collie type everytime for general rabbiting aboot ps, I,ve got my collie tinted glasses on at the moment

    I like All kinds of running dog so if there needin a judge next year ill say yes ) be as we'll it can't be that hard pick a dog that looks like it gets a lot of work and kept well simple job done then don't go on thl for a couple of weeks lol so if the dug looks like its been stitched up a few times a few toes missing etc it should win lol

    This seems to make sense, thats what ill be doing now and as Skycat suggested a bit ferreting may help, build the dogs confidence

    not too bad had a couple of real ales ...................then come home............ i wanting to go to the pub but was knackered was out working my we dogs during the day had a cracking day I got roped into gawn tae the bingo with the wife never won fookall

    haven,t read the last three pages but you see quite alot of people on here advising to take a young dog out with an older experienced dog when entering to the lamp, this imo is a bad idea, having a young dog on the lead which has to stand and watch another dog chasing will only make the dog frustrated and lead to problems such as yapping, one dog, dark windy night ,easy slips is the way to go
