  1. I have just retired my first x to a pet home with my daughter, was a good little ferreting dog, good nose, great drive, decent on lamp but did lack a yard daytime, was a small bitch just over 18”, I put a whippet over her a few years back and they were better running dogs, I prefer the 3/4 bred whippet but a half bred greyhound would be better than half bred whippet in my personal opinion
  2. So sorry for you and your family mate, RIP young lady. Truly devastating.
  3. Peter Ross and a silver stoat tail is my fav combo for sea trout, often pick a salmon up on the stoat.
  4. think i depends on what type of land you are working and what you want to run with it, for rabbits on small fields/woodland a whippet x collie would suit me. the none ped racing lines can be small and rapid, usually a bit of greyhound in them from somewhere down the line. I have a young collie bitch i am training for ferreting, she is work/trial bred and has really taken to ferreting, if she ends up what i hope i will put a none ped racing whippet on her in a few years my relatives have some real good gear.
  5. Being delivered Jimmy, I have watched a fair few videos about them, hopefully I can work it.
  6. I fish the spoons with the narrow bit to to top Daniel, hook on the wide end. you never know they may fish well that way round
  7. Fantastic bitch her, seen her first hand, impressive
  8. I have a work bred collie pup, 7 months old now and steady as an be, been marking and working with nets and ferrets for 3 months, took to it like a duck to water, just work her solo, just I like to do. I’ve had beddy whippet types the last few years but retired my old bitch and just wanted a biddable ferreting dog so I went back to a collie, had collie Bitch years ago was a great ferreting dog.
  9. have you any experience of the range finer model Jimmy, i am going to buy one or the other, dont know if it is worth the extra coin. Thank you.
  10. Hi, been thinking about getting one of the above for my hw100, is there anything i need to be aware of please, thank you.
  11. how do you rate them mate, been thinking about getting a lrw model for my hw100.
  12. fantastic idea mate and better for the environment, hope to get a go at some spoons made at some point, cant get time to fart at the minute lol
  13. Don’t think that’s the correct way to do it mate but it works ok. I trimmed the outer line back flush to the nail knot
  14. That is the way I repair the burst meshes, I just nail knot them back together, works fine, I am always fixing burst nets. Instead of using a nail, use a plastic cotton bud stem, just push the twine up the middle of the tube. Would do a video but can’t get them on, I could send you one tomo if you are on WhatsApp.
  15. Ideal for fixing nets mate, I will put a few pics up when I get a minute.
  16. I don’t normally make to sell but have sold a few, will message you.
  17. Few spoons rigged up on a weak link, don’t loose many fish rigging them up, better than standard spoon.
