  13. My thoughts exactly and if voting ukip makes me racist for wanting the British to keep our identity and my children to be proud of there routes instead of being taught to be ashamed. Then I'm a racist and proud! i don't think you are racist, more nationalist no nation has been broke apart more than ours, from a huge empire, to a small nation, which is still under threat all our identity has gone, it must have been same for the Romans,it feels like we are being eradicated, our sense of pride our customs and beliefs religious or otherwise, by who I think are the real racists,I am proud to be Engl
  14. They are all untrustworthy to different degrees,I know I have voted for the others in past and hate the fact I did, at least ukip seem to be echoing what the people want, the English people have had enough, and we are loosing our identity, so if only it makes the other parties sit up and realise how out of touch they are, with the people who pay there wages then it's ukip for me,

  17. Remember ant you are training the dog primarily on blood, they are easy to start and get going the dog will change to suit the morning, my pointer was a superb duck dog absolutely outstanding, good on pheasants/rabbits too,but when the rifle came out he would flick a switch and hug tight to you, my Teckle's the same, even though I never really needed to follow up,if a animal ran before dropping 30 yrd or so, I always put the dog in as if it had to follow up, to keep the dog practiced at what they do, the pointer would find, then come back to me and walk me in to the kill, the terrier all hell brak
  18. I understand that not everyone can own a deer dog. I put that in my original reply, but if you go stalking you should absolutely have access to a proper deer dog. Its not hard. That's why I mentioned the UKSHA, I can't believe there aren't any members on here. There is also another similar organisation that does the same job... Tracking wounded deer, usually free of charge. So tell me what's a proper deer dog then??? Who decides what a proper deer dog is? Who decides the standard that identifies a proper deer dog, and you say it's usually free how long for ??? Till the forestry commission m
  19. It is a bone of contention and the arguments gone on for years,I have a deer dog, I had two till one had to be put down, and to be honest I think I followed up maybe two or three times, once was a guy who tried to take a neck shot while sat in a high seat, and the other couple of times were road casualties, I also have two other dogs funny enough both will follow deer blood, but its not there main stay, in fact the Teckle I use has been utilized on other stuff, as its not fair to have a dog and not give it regular use,I run scents for her every year, and she never lets me down, so whats a proper d
  20. The abbreviated version is that someone tried to head shoot a roe at 150m, thought it dropped but then couldn't find any sign of it and put it down as a miss. Some people, myself included suggested that head shooting deer wasn't a good idea and should be passed up in favour of neck / chest shots. Some views were expressed stronger than others and there was a bit of name calling and hair pulling but nothing too nasty. So what are the pros and cons of head shooting deer then? Who does it, why and how far is too far? Also, to keep it fair... who used to take head shots, had it go terribly wro
  21. I assume by " address " you mean letting off steam and such like.......how would a dog bred for generations after generations to be aggressive and fight.....let off steam or be " addressed " ?.....................and im not digging you out mate i agree with what your saying. Make your mind up mate it was your " no bad dogs just bad owners " theory that caught my attention in the first place Good post this and yes like you i believe that aggression can and is handed down.....i dont have experience with Am Bulls/Rotts/Alsatians etc but the Pit Bulls that i was around for many ye
  22. Just out of curiosity what breeds have you been around ?......I havent been around dogs as long as you have but ive seen more than a few that would put the fear of god in you for no other reason than they wanted to........to say no dogs are born bad is not naive its just silly in my opinion as it is to say anything born of nature doesnt have the capability to be born bad.i have been around a fair few breeds, and I have seen dogs that would put the fear of God in you, BUT not a pup, I have never come accross a young pup that would do it, I know where you are coming from, but twice I've seen it

  24. Here we go again ........How romantic !Dogs get labelled as mad or bad because folk can't understand a certain behaviorGuaranteed, this dogs nature as a high temperament breed wasn't been fulfilled Hugely driven dogs in the wrong hands is an accident waiting to happen Dogs don't just turn , they become like a ticking time bomb and unfortunately for this poor woman was in the wrong place when the dog finally boiled over, Dogs certainly don't just turn without showing any warning signs but to say that no dogs are just born evil feckers is naive at best. I agree some dogs are born di
