  1. Tell us more, or am I missing something on another thread.
  2. I saw one very early one morning a few years ago at Ardnamurchan. The wildlife park you took this photo is great, the kids loved the wolves!
  3. 20 is lighter, easier to carry around if rough shooting and for most genral shooting will do everything a 12 will. 23 gram carts are a dream to shoot with and have the pattern for woodies and rabbits at 30-35 metres. Having said that alot shoot with 28/30 gr. I nearly always go for the 20 or 28 bore over the 12, with the exception of fox drives and geese.
  4. In jail, best place for him. Let's see how he likes being raped!
  5. The hmr is more expensive than .22lr, but only marginally different to 12 bore carts. I bet you get a better kill ratio with the hmr, so what's the problem. didnt think shotguns were in question I was simply making the point that hmr ammo isn't expensive at all when you consider the benefits.50 bullets for me might mean 45 crows, 50 cartridges will def mean less.

  7. As Bill above. I use Deben with no problems.
  8. Simon. I had a Bushnell banner 3-9x40 on my hummer, which was great but mil mil dot. Have upgraded to a Nikon monarch 3, 4-16 x 42. The only down side to any of the cheap IR scope is that the IR is crappy with flare at anything other than the lowest settings. I have now decided the IR is more of a gimmick than a necessity, for what I need the rifle for. Shooting in woodland might be different.
  9. Very good, one of many out there.......but no amount of simulation can beat getting out there and doing it for real!!
  10. A small all terrain vehicle used for getting over the moor. You can take it over water as well if youve got the bottle!
  11. Very interesting that Moll. There are stories of people who have fallen into very cold water and managed to survive unconcious for a long time because the cold has slowed down their heart beat, but kept the major organs warm.
  12. After having seen loads of rabbits out in one particular spot when lamping we decided to give it a go with the ferrets. In this spot the ground is covered in sheep with lots of rushes where most of the holes are. Most of the burries are only 2 or 3 holes, with lots of emergency escape holes, no more than a couple of feet long, for when buzzards fly over. It was always going to be a bit hit and miss because the rabbits often just sit out in the rushes, but we though that the recent snow fall and colder weather, might have driven them underground. The ground was rock hard, and almost im
  13. I used to read his articles all the time as a youngster, but I cannot afford to buy the sporting press these days. The lads and lasses on here that have not heard of him are from a different generation. Unfortunately, the rise of the internet has meant characters like John don't have the same press, because the net seems to be the main source of info for the younger generation. Great shame, but that's the way it is. Kindle will ensure that the collecting of books doesn't have the same meaning to people.
  14. When you choose hard drugs, there is only one of two things that are going to happen: You give them up and you live........or, you keep taking them and you die. Guaranteed! Its not for me to judge her, or her actions, but what a wasted talent.
  15. Its a croquet green in the snow! he must have posted on the wrong thread.
  16. Nice composition with the river leading you into the picture.
  17. U That's a bloody good effort mate. Excellent. Where is it? Its Rannoch Mor just out side Glencoe yes got it, It's the lochs that left and right of the road prior to Glencoe. Just didn't recognise them on my phone. These and the next mountain on the left whose name escapes me, must be some of the most photographed in Scotland. Ben Etive is the mountain I meant.
