  1. I agree with The One. Go for this years kits. Most ferrets will hunt naturally, but its working them regularly and getting them at the bunnies that makes them good.
  2. Well, you gave two bits of advice, and both bits are correct. The zoom lens really does depend on what you want to do with it, but if you can live without wideangle then the 70 to 300 is good. I myself use a Nikon, with a general purpose zoom of 18-200, among others.
  3. Nothing wrong with some of your pics you are posting at the moment
  4. Found these while looking for some other photos from a few years back. Snapshots really, when trying out apertures and shutter speeds etc
  5. Found this one among others I took a few years ago.
  6. It's nice when you get one you've been after for a long time, and put a lot of work into. Well done.
  7. Just started a new topic as a result of this post and another similar one from another airgunner. Just a bit of banter though, dont take it to heart!! Atb.
  8. I cant believe the two posts I have just read, but we have one post saying like he "feels like he has lost a limb", because he has not got a springer any more, and one is having a "Sad day" because he has got rid of his guns. Ha Ha They are only tools to do a job!
  9. I thought your bloody dog had died or something, by the title of this post. You soft bugger!!
  10. Turn the water supply off to your toilet at home, and after a week of you crapping in it, away from your bedroom, see how you like the stench! Thats why I clean mine out once a day. Bedding once a week/fortnight.
  11. Excrement and urine shavings every day, bedding once a week/fortnight depending on condition of bedding.
  12. Yet another difference, because up here the only people in the office are the feo's.
  13. true but (I might be wrong here) is it actually the FAO that makes the rules? The feo's and the office staff are one and the same and all work to the same guidelines. The problems occur because they also take in direct advice from web sites such as BASC and best practice guides. It isn't that the advice from these other agencies is wrong, but they are just guidelines and opinions of an organisation. The feo's though, all interpret them differently and therefore shooters get misleading advice based on opinion and not law.
  14. Good write up. It must be a pretty risky game digging down to the ferrets in that sand, in case of tunnel collapse etc. Glad you didnt have to do it!
  15. Carrick2. I am not trying to say you are one of those irrisponsible dog owners. You may have just been unlucky.
  16. Yep, I have had to shoot dogs over the years, but all of mine have been clear cut.. no owners present and dogs attacking lambs. There is no issue with this but if the owner was there then the dog may get a few seconds of grace to be called off. Similar to my last dog which was a staff, and other dogs that were off leads would come up to it and start having a go. There have been several occasions were the boot has been stuck in, or the other dog has been whacked with a stick because the owners showed no intention of controling their dog, and we all know what would happen if my staff was un
  17. Often see them off the Ardnamurchan coast, I think they come from Mull and Rum.
  18. I sympathise with your loss, but drinking home brew or alcohol of any description is not an offence, and does not prohibit you from having a certificate. How you behave after having a drink and under the influance of alcohol, may do. Likewise it would take a trickcyclist to say he was mentally unstable and unfit to possess a firearm.
  19. Not acceptable to the dog owner, and there may be better ways of dealing with it for sure, but cetainly where I come from, the hill farmers have a hard time of it, and they will not tolerate anything that may kill any of their livestock. The law is on their side with that one, even though it was only worrying hens. Not all people can rationalise a situation when the going gets tough.
  20. Yes they were all over the place along the A9 and the wardens had just cut them in half to through them to the wolves.
