  1. Following the fantastic sunrise sunset photos thread, I have decided to start a moonrise thread!! For starters these were taken at Llandullas beach north wales tonight.
  2. Another one from this morning. Not particularly a good composition, but it capture the sun through the thick mist.
  3. It doesn't matter what the camouflage is providing you then blend in with the background. I for example wear different colours if lying out in heather to those I would ware laying out in an autumn bracken bed, or rock pile. The whole thought process should revoke around the principle of "Visual deception by disguise"
  4. i just look out the window I knew someone would say that as soon as I pressed the enter button.lol
  5. Just watched a great programme on BBC1 about the Lancaster bomber etc in the 2nd world war. Great insight into what the young crews had to go through, and the courage they showed. Well done all of them.
  6. I am sure most photographer know various places to find sunrise/sunset, moonrise/moonset times and direction of each at any time of the day, but I have found this app for android phones, extremely useful. It was originally designed for iphone and still available on iphone. If you start playing around with the app, it can do a whole host more things as well, and could potentially be used for suitable location of hides etc to avoid having the sun in your eyes etc. The app is called "The Photographer's Ephemeris" I apologise if you are already aware of this. (unfortunatley t
  7. Thanks. Had a little problem at first with the camera metering, and they were taken to record some of the day, rather than make a good shot.
  8. Some great pictures and a fantastic write up as usual. Love the rabbit tree and the rabbit through the spade handle photo.
  9. Funnist programme on telly by far!!!
  10. Sorry to hear that Romany. atb
  11. Up early with my eldest lad, to do some early morning tracking!
  12. A few pics from hounds getting some exercisie in this weeks snow.
  13. I have been doing this a VERY long time, I have 8 FAC tools and an assortment of shotguns and air rifles/pistols. This is how I make a living and is also my sport, and despite what many think I will be the first to admit I don't know it all. What my experience has brought me is familiarity with MANY rifles and ammo types, I have a good idea of the suitability and limits of each, and their different ammo, in many many situations, that's why I have so many rifles, 2 of them are .22lr, the rest are all different, I take out the most suitable rifle for every job, I don't take out a .22lr to shoo
  14. Provided the suppressor is on your ticket and is designed for both rifles you can use the same one.
  15. Although I completely understand why gamekeepers feel the need to do this, (as an ex gamekeeper) but in this day and age of mobile phone cameras, trail cameras, pinhead cameras, microwave cameras, infrared cameras etc etc etc, I am amazed some still resort to this method, that is 100% guaranteed to catch the person setting the trap, if it is discovered. Livelyhood gone, Family home gone, Potentially marriage gone, etc
  16. Not seen much Mixi around here. Well done, nice bit of sport.
  17. I dont think it will fit, the more I think about it, but here is a low res picture of one. The biggest problem I think is because on my lance, the dovetail would need to go the other way, but it might give you an idea to manufacture something.
  18. I'm away for a couple of weeks, but Simrad do a dovetail mount, that goes on the PM11 34mm tube. I can check if the lightforce mount goes on it but you will have to wait.
  19. Years ago the dales were crawling with rabbits. Nice bag, and pics. Ta
  20. Whilst working in Wales for a few weeks, managed to get out walking and it was nice to see a good covering of snow on the tops. Saw plenty of buzzards, a Kite and this little Dunnock came and watched me have a cuppa.
  21. My 3 jills are eating slightly less, even though they have been working quite a bit. Not sure if its the colder weather causing them to sleep up a bit more. Not worried though as they are eating enough.
