  1. lets just hope he can get an erection
  2. Nice pics matey. I like the one of the coot. Unfortunatley we dont see so many coots, or moorhens anymore around here.
  3. True polecats are much bigger, but polecat ferrets and the albino ones are both good little workers imo. I have had very good workers in both types, and some not so good, but it is more about the hunt in the ferret, than the type. I currently run both polecat ferrets and white ones, and have no preference with my current stock, other than their character.
  4. The truth is, this shoot probably shoots this many hares every year, and probably has done for years. Like a lot of the east anglian hare shoots they are sustainable. Where I am we have plenty of hare including loads of mountain hares, but not in those numbers. I personally like to see the hares, and leave them well alone until asked to cull a few, and then it has to be done. I just hate it when I am asked to shoot them, simply from keeping the lampers off the land.
  5. Paulus.. you're loving your camera are'nt you!
  6. .22rf good for rabbit if that's your main quarry. Hmr good if your going to add crows and other corvids to the bag. The .17 does break up quick but I have shit maggies 1 in front of other and about a metre apart, and both were blown apart, so I,m guessing you don't need to worry about blades of grass immediately in front of the bunny, and any rounds including heavy cf bullets will deflect on thicker stuff. You will get some other advice I'm sure. Hope this helps.
  7. I agree, all the true polecats we get this way are much darker than that.
  8. I have the cz452, and have shot it against the sako, savage and anshutz. The worst grouping was with the savage, but that may have been a bad example rifle. They all have the potential for being accurate if cleaned properly, but you cant beat the cz for value for money accuracy. It is as good as, if not better than all of the other 3. imo.
  9. Bee, spider and a different coloured shield bug
  10. Nice fish, was that on a lure or a fly?
  11. Like the black background with the white flower
  12. It's bollocks mate but I would imagine they can only use those that are directly involved in the comp. i.e. those that they display and use in the final stages. As I said before and I think I am right, the photographer retains copyright under usual circs. It is as if you are giving them a print release form.
  13. Copyright stays with the photographer unless you sign away the rights. I doubt the CA would take ownership of the copyright but by entering photos, you are agreeing that they may use them in anyway they see fit. The same as anybody that sends pics to sky news for example about a current news thread. If you don't agree with it don't send them in.
  14. Did you mean to put the bottem one on, or is it "name the caption competition?" I dare not do it, I'm a chicken :D Standby standby :whistling:
  15. what is that Its a strawberry in a glass of fizzy water nice one I wondered the same, but I can see it now.
  16. Not bad pics from a compact Jay. Shame about the branches on the owl shot as that would have been a cracker. Lucky to get that close though.
  17. While sorting through hard drives a few days ago, I found some of these I took in the garden a few years ago. They were all hand held, so I have no doubt they could have been a little sharper, if tripod mounted.
  18. Thanks. I just dont own the quality of glass, to get the ultra sharp pics that you get.
  19. Thieving buggers. Hope you get them back.
  20. I zero mine at 100 metres, about 110 yards, and this gives me the best trajectory for what I need. It does depend though on the distance you will whack most stuff at.
  21. An hour a day is fine, and you will always have the odd bits of time with them at other times.
  22. same here mate. spent plenty of time practising on my old mans polythene green house, it had more holes in it than a tea strainer! poor old fella used to do his nut........ gat guns could even fire corks and pieces of spud and soap!!
  23. Depends what you are doing, but I take my young lad under a flight line from their roosts, first thing in the mornings, and the first ones usually start coming over before sunrise.
