  1. They are in flight as well and quite in focus! Nice bit of winter light on them
  2. Mike the trajectory might be flatish out to 200, but at the latter stages its dropping enough to cause a miss if your range estimation is wrong by 10-15 metres. On top of that, the greater affect of wind at those distances, again rf, are essential for correct adjustment of drums. IMO In short it takes the guesswork out, which I think is better as it results in accurate shot placement, more times than not.
  3. Best little worker.....you can't half tell by its face. Looks like a well used terrier!
  4. Very good. Always been wary of them, but respect.
  5. You certainly come across as an honest bloke, mate. I wish you all the best, and hope some body can sort you out.
  6. Yes, 6 cubs in belly, so 7 less hungry mouths to feed at lambing/hatching time.
  7. Possibly Dunc, but every time, and without the firer noticing that its not a smooth load? All types not grouping I could except, different types grouping slightly differently the same, but a two foot board to capture a group at 100, as against a 1-2cm group is strange. If the tips were getting damaged on the feed ramp to that extent, then the user would feel a difference, if screws were lose or the crown/throat damaged then that would affect all rounds. The only other thing I can think apart from user error, is a bad batch, but in my limited experience with the hmr, this is not in
  8. I am no expert, but I have the same model as you, and have a lot of experience with rifles up to .338 cal. I have, so far, not experienced any rifle that would require a 2 ft board, to capture all the rounds at 100, just as a result of using different ammo. Even in .308, the difference between 155 grain and 168 grain is only a matter of centimetre. Just because it is a ballistic tip I cannot see it making that much difference. As I said, I am no expert but, the only time I get flyers, is when I don't concentrate. The nut behind the but.
  9. Yep, I look a lot older now though. But I can still remember it nearly pulling the rod out of my hands, and towing the boat half way up the loch!!! Lol
  10. Worth the wait, good picture with great scenery.
  11. Professionally I use Leica, but I bought myself a set of the Deben 600, and for most things I cant fault them. They dont work quite as well as the leica in mist, but are fine in the rain, even without changing to the "rain" setting. I rarley use them at night as I always reduce my shootable distance anyway to a range less than 150m so I dont need to adjust or aim of, with the exception of possibly .2 mil. For that reason, I have not missed the illuminated reticle/reading.
  12. After only shooting dog foxes for the last couple of months, and not seeing vixens at all, I finally caught up with one 5.30am this morning, with a belly full of young. Picked it up in the lamp about 40 metres away, it ran about another 50 metres and stopped and turned... lights out. We knew there must be one somewhere with all the dogs about, but have never gone so long without a vixen before.
  13. It may not be the biggest or the best, but it was my first one, caught on a toby, in the narrows at Loch Eil, 41 years ago!
  14. Try it on a tripod or table top on self timer. If that picture is blurred, then the camera is possibly buggered.
  15. No issues with that rich, I've had them out to 140 in the right conditions, but I am aware this already might be the start of a wind up again about the whole fox issue, and the 17, so dont bite! Wind up?Fox issue? only issue is foxes taking my bloody chickens! Yep no offence pal, but skuldugery sometimes happens on here. Ballisticly, there is no reason why this is happening, if the rifle is in good order, and to be out by so much but then ok again with another design of bullet, just doesn't seem possible at 100.
  16. I've had broken ribs twice now, the last time last January. There is nothing that can be done for them apart from not doing anything that's puts pressure on the muscles, and plenty of painkillers. The last time I broke them the real pain started a few days water and spread right around to my back. Not the back bone, but the shoulder area. Keep smiling and all the best.
  17. The colour patterning on thaw two is fantastic. A different coloured brown to normal.
  18. No issues with that rich, I've had them out to 140 in the right conditions, but I am aware this already might be the start of a wind up again about the whole fox issue, and the 17, so dont bite!
  19. With a compact, if your taking moving pictures in low light, as it often is at this time of year, it wont be able to give you a fast enough shutter speed. The other thing it might be is, the auto focus, is not in focus at the time the shutter opens, or with the shutter lag, i.e the time it takes the shutter to open after pressing the button, you are already moving away from the shot. If that makes sense. Remember to follow through as you would with a golf swing, a gun, throwing a ball etc.
  20. There shouldnt be any problem, the vmax are the best ones imo. What rifle do you have, what range are you zeroing at?
  21. Thanks. Yep the albino is great.
  22. Wanted to stick these on the ferret forum, but had a feeling it would only get moved to this one. When you look into their eyes, you can see the natural born killer, and state of readiness for the kill, even though these were just playing. Tryed to get some play fighting, but couldnt manage them. These were from the summer.
