  1. Half the trouble is that people are that sick and tired of having the whole political correctness thing rammed down their throats. When someone like her comes out with a comment like that, she should expect a verbal tongue lashing from the public and the press accordingly. In my job there is no black and white were racism is concerned and I dread to think what would happen to me, if I came out with a similar comment. When the shoe is on the other foot we get told "she probably didnt mean what she said, and it has been taken out of context! The other thing of course that will save her i
  2. Mountain biking in Lincolnshire, your having a laugh aren't you Lolapat!!!! Sorry, I couldn't resist it!! ATB
  3. She should be sacked, its a disgrace and a blatent racist comment. Let me guess as to what will actually happen............................mmm. Sweet FA!
  4. 3 is better than none! you can only kill 'em once!!
  5. I haven't seen the video you are talking about, but they may be trying to replicate the ballistic testing that law enforcement agencies use when carrying out ammunition testing. The usual items used for the testing include; Bare Gelatin Plywood Heavy Clothing Auto Glass Steel Wallboard These tests were extensivly used by the FBI in the 90's, particularly when they were looking at the difference between various handgun and .223 ammo.
  6. Are you going to do this in Android?
  7. I've been using one on my hmr for the last year, and think its great. I'm not quite sure about the 200m bit that Lenser claim, apart from on exceptionally dark nights, but in any case I wouldnt be shooting those ranges with the hummer at night, so its fine. It hasnt quite got the legs for a CF when after charlie, I feel, so I go back to my LF140 for that, or on moonlit nights/last hour before sunrise, etc I bought mine from 7dayshop at about £40 last year.
  8. Lets hope you are joking with this one! In this day and age everybody who gets caught is usually by camera. It doesnt matter whether they are judge, copper, lawyer, magistrate, or somebody who has no respect for right and wrong.... they are getting done! Maybe when you see a family of four wiped out by a speeder you might think before you write.
  9. Well done Cragman, someone who reads the question! It will not affect the zero taking it on an off for storage.
  10. I use a s/s for game and rough shooting because its lighter for carrying about, and an o/u for clays because its heavier, so less recoil. My 28 and 20 are both o/u, because I couldn't afford the models I wanted in s/s. I think they both have their pros and cons, but only a vain person would worry about image!!
  11. I agree to a certain extent, but the trouble will be that some drivers will then start doing 120 in a 90 limit, instead of 100 in a 70. I personally reckon it should be upped to , but increase the fines. I too have lost a family member from some t**t speeding.
  12. Given this book for Christmas by my dad, and what a cracking read about the fell packs of Cumbria. It is written by Jill Mason, with photography partly done by David Mason. It contains detailed chapters about each of the six packs, their huntsmen, whips and history along with others about the otterhounds etc. If you like looking at photos to accompany the read, it is jam packed with them, some old and some knew The only down side to me is that it doesnt contain anything about the fell packs that hunt further south in lancs and yorkshire. As a side line David Mason has his own w
  13. Totally agree an air rifle is a more suitable weapon for pests, but many years ago, I shot loads of rats and mice, around the buildings with an old webley .22 pistol, and I shot bucketfuls of baby rabbits in the garden, having rested on top of the garden wall with a cr Crossman pump up .22. It does sometimes depend on the quarry, the range and your skill, however I wouldn't do it now, because I have more suitable tools for the job.
  14. Not quite the same, but I get lots of sport, (ferreting/lamping/roost shooting etc) as a result of always being available when more hands are needed, on the farms.
  15. If ferreting I will hang them up from whatever is available, such as a post, fence, branch etc. If mouching about with a rifle then gut them and carry them in the hand, or any other way were they can hang in the air. Even a couple of rabbits in a game bag, come out too warm after a short time.
  16. Y a good soak in salt water sorts most things Aye. It's better than wasting it, and certainly helped me out occasionly.
  17. Game bag worst place as it can't cool. Leg them and hang them up, or string them over shoulders if still in field. As much air circulation the better, if your going to eat.
  18. Cheshire groom currently have 10rnd, plastic .17hmr/.22wmr mags on special offer 22.00, for anyone interested.
  19. Don't take it personal, its a forum, and everybody has their own view. When I was a kid it was a collar and string, but I never needed that really, and my ferrets now are no problem, but I always collar them because I can. I have to dig now, but years ago I would have sat around a lot more. Each to their own mate.
  20. Looks like a rabbit that has been camping on a very windy night, and its tent has blown down.!
  21. A bit of a long shot, but has anybody completely rewired the above lamp, and got any photos of it dismantled or constructive advice. The model I have is the scope mounted one. Thanks.
  22. i remember them well, it was the early 's they were out, didn't last long though, caused a bit of controversy if i remember. Thats them!!!! Ha I think somebody should make them again!!!!! Just noticed it was Welshpool and not Shropshire, but it was close!
  23. Anybody remember the Hedgehog flavour Crisps that were made in the late 70's or early 's. Made in Shropshire if my memory serves me correct, and created a bit of a storm, even though it was beef or something else in reality!
