Good luck on the release, I hope some of the people who shouldn't be on a hunting site read this and at least for 1 minute realize people who are involved in field sports have far more respect and knowledge of the countryside than they could ever dream of......   4. Cheers for the replies lads, Hi Sean. No that's my mates pup, cracking dog though not sure on exact % but grey/saluki/collie with a dash of bull, he's 9 mnths now has had a couple of rabbits on the lamp, see how he progresses mate......

  8. Well done mate, gaining permission for ferreting isn't so hard when you go about in the right way, as you have obviously done....... A mate in north Devon has a couple of this years hobs if your any where nearby, drop me a pm if it's any help.....

    Mo, my father never took me as a kid, his best friend and labourer did, from as far back as I can remember ( about 5 or 6 I reckon) we went, hunting, fishing, bird nesting he showed me the lot. He died last year aged 57 and it was like losing a Dad, anyone who invests that much time into you from such a young age has a lasting effect on you. When my son was born he put in the local paper a congrtulations with a note saying how he was going to teach him to fish, hunt etc...... unfortunately he only came out once with my son as he was ill by the time my son was old enough, I made sure we had 1
  13. Really hoping for a quick recovery Craigyboy........ We had the same with my Dad 5 years ago, a bang on the head resulted in a blod clot and 5 weeks in intensive care 3 weeks in an induced coma.... He has made a full recovery...... have faith in the doctors/surgeons we have some of the best in the world in this country and I sincerely hope Craigyboy makes a full recovery soon..... ATB Kev

  16. It was an early start yesterday, Micky had suggested going to a nice bit of land down his way he had been out with the air rifle the evening before and had 8 and said there was a few about. It would be Mickys pups first time out with the ferrets at 8 mnths he's turning into a big lad but was well behaved all day I had my 2 ( jack russel and Beddy/Whip) Mick also had Steve his bull x. First stop a hedge between a horse paddock and a big arable field, the jrt marked well so we set purse nets in the runs and on the most accesible holes and set stop nets along the hedge. 3 ferrets in and quick ru

  18. in a perfect world,,,,,,but evry night is difrent,,, evry place is difrent,,,,each quarry is diffrent,,,, lamping rabbits on the dales , when there's alot,, my lamp stays on alot,,it also genraly stays on when they miss a rabbit,,, as very often theres another making a bid for freedom,,,, so its pointless getting the dog back first... also on that land its so humpy and bumpy and so dark ,, you would be on your arse evry min.....not only that theres often rabbits sat over the next bump then theres diffrent quarry,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,, Thinks thats it mate.... most know how it should b

    Take my lad mate he's 6 he loves ratting and comes out ferreting sometime took my little girl for a couple of hours last season she's 4 now she loves the ferrets, my eldest girl don't want to know...... Might ruin her nails...lol

  21. Pick an evening high tide mate, hope nose ( babacombe next to torquay) or berry head ( brixham) or the pier in torquay it'll be good now mate sea temp is high and there's a few around good luck

Congratulations mate best thing in the world, my youngest started school yesterday me, the wife her big sister the grandparents all took her up the school she was proud as punch in her uniform ,I tried to act tough as I swallowed the lump in my throat, nothing gets you like your kids mate....... All the best to mother and baby and good luck for the future.
