  1. More like Eddie large! lol In fact...Eddie the Eagle lol
  2. This tale often brightens up a day for me if I'm feeling a bit down in the dumps!! sorry mate! lol
  3. You sometimes take for granted how beautiful our countryside is... this mornings walk only 15 mins drive from my house, the view down the valley is stunning...
  4. What were they for out of interest mate? I'm sure industrial food freezers don't go much under minus 20, the one we worked on was being tested at minus 23 and that was below its running temp. minus 40 must be for something pretty specialist?
  5. "Learning something new" Cmon mate this is too easy lol
  6. Anyway I'm out... early finish today being treated to a few beers tonight from a happy customer, joys of knowing what you're doing in you're chosen field lol
  7. I guess you mean irate? and "they're questioned" ? not to be obtuse but careful chucking high IQ chat around when it takes a bit to decipher every post lol
  8. You said something about insulation and building? you wouldn't be insulating inside a working freezer, that would be done surely? They don't turn those things on until they are up and sealed, we've chucked 1000s of meters of fridge panels around the country, but only one job ever inside a working freezer and that was installing stainless steel racking... as my previous post I think it was at -23 and that was horrific! lol
  9. f**k me... seriously... an admission to having zero knowledge on a subject!! should've done that 5 pages back would've saved Charts blood pressure rocketing! lol
  10. Sorry are you saying you've built in minus 40 degree temps in Hull? lol We had to install steel work inside of a working freezer on a lidls distribution plant... it was at minus 23, my brother ran the contract and done a few stints inside the chiller, 20 mins maximum in there... he said it was hell on earth lol... I was pleased of my warm office for those few weeks lol
  11. Not pretentious at all mate, facts I'd rather sit back and listen to people who really know about subjects I have little knowledge on, one I think that's good manners and 2 it saves you looking like a twat...lol.. I know where I'd seek information on the Middle East on this site if I was after it... It wouldn't be from Grass hopper that's for sure lol
  12. Can I presume you're protégé is nearing the end of his education?
  13. It could be worse, you could be a UTD fan mate...
  14. Funny having this yap with my lad earlier.. He's 20 in a couple of weeks, worked for me for just over a year full time, worked in the Co-op whilst he was at college and bits for me in summer holidays etc...he has saved bloody hard, he is into his finances and has money in stocks and shares etc (most of his yap goes over my head lol)... anyway, through all his own work he's got enough for a deposit on a 2 bed house.. we take no rent off him for living home, and he gets hos grub etc...because imo him saving is what it's about, I'll help as much as possible, but they've got to help themselve
  15. I've said for a long while now that all i want from money is to buy more time.. I think i could have all the time in the world, if I cashed in here and moved, we have talked about it a lot... I think where we live in the country we are very lucky in many aspects, but it's changing pretty quickly and I've travelled around with work more than enough to know this bubble will eventually burst.. I dont know where we'd go, it was always Ireland years ago through my family ties etc, but I'm.not sure anymore about that.. Most places in central Europe you'd be living mortgage free on wh
  16. @Daniel cain and @Rusty_terrier Thank you for the donations lads, very kind abd most appreciated. We're at £2703 for the weekend, that's an amazing amount lads...
  17. I know exactly what you mean by "volling" but never heard that term mate. I actually saw a salmon jump couple of weeks back in the exe estuary... boat played up so me and Fin had a few casts off exmouth dock wall, I was looking up river and a decent one came our a good few feet... still got me excited lol... Used to sit at Salmon Pool weir, up above countess Weir and watch them leap the weir, I think that weir collapsed a few years back... that was one of the main pools my mate poached back in those days, night time Gill netting.. lol
  18. @twobob Thanks for the reel mate, it looks a treat in the man cave! Lol
  19. Yeah the piss taking is top notch mate, exactly as it should be amongst lads who know how to give it and take it... that's what makes it for me, the fishing is really a secondary thing, the food, laughs, few beers and yapping around a fire is the weekend now... We ate like kings this wewkend, everyone mucks in and provides something... was good to catch up.again mate...even if we did bore you to sleep lol
  20. Didn't take many pics.. But loved this pic that Bud put onto a banner, our old mate Johnny boy, still sorely missed and talked about at every comp..
  21. The otter just about escaped the wooden spoon! lol It was won by a lad who has fished it the last 2 years and is a regular guest of the fishery, they book now to coincide with the comp and get involved with the lot.. we charged £10 to fish and £10 for the barbie to boost the pot.. so all the extra people who are turning up contributed as well.. Owain (Wales1234) came 2nd with 33lb, decent net of bream and a cracking crucian.. Carp counted as 1lb this year and it tightened it up quite a lot... fishing wasn't amazing, but everyone caught. 1st 38lb 2nd 33lb 3rd 21lb
  22. Those trainers were hidden in my truck, again!, the occurring theme it would seem... they'll definitely be back next year, they're way too smart for me! lol
  23. What a great weekend again! Seriously lads if you haven't been before it really is worth the effort, I probably laugh more on this weekend than the rest of the year, the banter is top notch, the food is great, the fishery is the most accommodating place you could wish for, there is nothing not too like. As all the posts, thanks to everyone who contributed, attended, cooked, cleaned, shifting shit, supplied prizes, chucked money in the pot, made the effort to travel hundreds of miles to be there... the list goes on. A massive thanks to Mary, Narima and Graham, they are friends of
