Like I say mate, I'm very lucky so don't have the daily interactions to make me feel like that... but I've spent months of my life living in cities around the country with work and can not wait to get home....I'm at a stage where I barely go in Exeter City anymore...its changing and it ain't for me...I'm older, maybe wiser...but probably just older... I feel massively sorry for people who are living in a town they have no connection with anymore ..I see it with my Uncle who is in Surrey... his neighbours and all the shop owners opposite his house are now Asian... its changed in the time o

The voting system is a bit f****d though mate.. Back to Brexit and it was a 2 horse race...in or out...we voted out (just) the majority in my opinion showed national pride... When you have a ballot with 5 or 6 options the vote is too spread, it would be interesting if there was a straight fight from a left of centre party and right of centre part....kind of what labour and cons should be....

Should always "say something" mate...at least on here you can openly talk about most things without getting closed down.... Pretty much agree with most of your points mate...mine about the little x in a box is only a small part, in my opinion, of the process, its a start no doubt, but wholesale change in attitude, choices, parenting, etc are required... The change of our country is there for all to see, we need to preserve our identity in our communities I say often I am lucky where I live but not stupid enough to realise it won't always be this way and travelled enough to know wha

Yeah it should...but you and I both know it don't... half the world is after a like on Instagram or Face book...so putting up.a post about voting for an independent is another way of virtual signalling like the lefts are so good at... The country is eroding away through laziness and apathy...parenting has gone to shit, people don't even like spending time with their kids...let alone guiding/educating them.... the whole thing is skewed...and an x in the box is a very small part of any change . On here we're pretty much preaching to the choir as we all have very similar views, some ar

My point being... It is easy to walk into a polling station and tick an indy party as a show of "doing something" if you like... But if that's all you do, so what? If you don't educate your kids, or get behind national/British events, do a bit in your community or even the wider community...just putting an X in the "correct" box and spouting "ive done my bit"... is a bit half-arsed in my opinion...

I thought Brexit was the first sign of change, the so called "silent majority" voting for something which felt like a bit of national pride... The problems we have in our country, and particularly in our major cities are the result of 40 or 50 years of poor decision making...although I agree that votes for independent parties and supporting a more right leaning agenda is a start... we are so far down this road now it will take something huge to change it, and do people have the stomach for it...my guess is no... You look at most western European countries and they all the same issues

It don't really fit the room well mate, its an old cottage, walls all over the shop and everything you do is out of square.. I want to make a centre post out of steel, with a big foot plate and top plate...bolt it to the floor and cut a timber top to suit the shape... you can then slide around the bench without catching your feet in table legs as the post will be in the centre...its all drawn in my head...lol Yeah theyre great for that... "don't worry about wiping the table, love..... ill sand it down!" Lol
-
Heres the table....its just not quite right...
-
Cheers Tomo .. We've brought a table for there, but its a poor fit and I don't like it to be honest.... I've got an idea though...so looks like bunk beds and a table to make...??

That's what the scaffs do with it mate, cut it down and bag it for log burners... this lad is involved in scaffolding and concrete floors, so all the old shuttering was for dumping, full length of 4x2 and 6x2... I've got a lot I can do with that! Lol

This is all cob walls mate, so trying to run a batten along the wall to pick the board ls up is a no go...hence the chunky corner posts... I hate cob!! ?

A mate of mine was clearing his yard, asked if I wanted anything...loads of timber and scaffold boards...well be rude not too.. I've a lot to do here, timber is mental money at the minute... First job...build a bench for the new cottage kitchen.. sand the boards up Had some off cuts of gate posts, ideal for corner posts Clad in with scaffold boards, hide all fixings...hey Presto a free bench (just my time and screws) next... scaffold board shelves.. Weekend of graft and the Kitchen is coming together now...

This is the lad who had the pup off Ken, he's been doing this place up for 15 years its a stunning place now! Before After I'm replacing the top flashings, they were done by a farmer mate of his....and you can tell!! Lol Pic inside his bar...proper job!
