What effect will the lack of cleaning have ? And also how to clean them properly advice for someone who has never done a full on rifle clean. Not really sure what I'm doing Rifles are a CZ 452 - 17HMR And a CZ 550 - 243 Cheers

-
Is it all the time or just retrieving etc ? A bloke I know trains labs for trials showed me a little trick, stand near a hedge corner , throw the dummy, send the dog for it, then go around the corner so your out of sight. Dog comes flying back cos it thinks you've gone

The Beddy X Whippet - The Greatest Dog In The World?
Lloyd90 replied to Ideation's topic in Lurchers & Running Dogs
Don't worry about it pal, its well known nobody on here actually works there dogs, just good banter slagging each other off saying so n so is shite. That's why every other post says PRE-BAN lol -
Cracking mate wish we had em about down here ... do you pay anything / much for your stalking or are ya very lucky ? Hope your week gets better pal
-
Don't be offended that he wanted full price country Joe , he was a scotsman after all , was he not ? Regardless a real loss to the dog training world , RIP
-
Bugger , I do apologize andy I made a mistake ... you are quite correct Dixie was out of Pauls dog Floyd ... I am no expert Im sorry just trying to remember, my friend knows the breeding back many generations ... perhaps it was Floyd that came from the Reg Boucher line , thanks for correcting me tho mate I have been to see Paul James with my pal (Nigel Fahey) if you know him ? ... was up his house few weeks ago, some cracking dogs and a real nice bloke too

Cheers pal, just going from what I have been told Flick was put to a bitch down seven sisters way , a bitch belonging to John P I believe, this is where my pals dog Dixie came from, according to my pal he was a top dog, he won top shows all over the country and was used a proper worker out in the field doing hares and rabbits in the hills of wales, he bred him and had a daughter but when she died after Dixie unexpectedly his line of them died off ... he still got a few contacts who have dogs of the breeding from Flick to Johns Bitch I do believe so always a possibility, I just wish I could

Anyone got any lurchers still going from these lines ? My pal in work had a dog Dixie and his daughter Bronn from these lines, the old dog died of old age and the daughter died from unexplained illness suddenly a few months later which was unexpected , before he managed to have a litter off her to keep the line going. Just wonder if anyone had anything from them from down our way, near Seven Sisters my pal is just outside Neath .

Any pics of the pair pal ?

Went to the Caerphilly show as the first lurcher show I've ever been, was 'dissappointed' to put it politely. Couldn't make the show today because of work but hopefully some good ones coming up, looking forwards to the welsh game fair

Names For My Beddy Whippet Pup
Lloyd90 replied to Dozza#lurcherterrier's topic in Lurchers & Running Dogs
what did you breed it with ? -
Wouldn't get a greyhound for rabbits pal, there quite "fragile" thats why people cross em. If you only want a smallish dog for rabbits only then a good whippet or whippet cross would do the job you want, if you want something a bit hardier then look at a bedlington x whippet as they look very handy wee dogs.
-
Ai mate, I was liked the look of the wee chap n thought he was a cracker but as said, no idea if he's alrdy been ruined etc so just walked, still a lovely lil dog tho... If I get a running dog my pal will sort me out anyways, still in touch with alot of old lurcher boys who have kept certain lines for generations so get a good worker x worker breeding, atleast then have a good chance to have something tidy

Was at Llandeillo poultry fair today looking at some chickens and such but seen a young traveller lad with a nice looking whippet, dark brindle one if anyone was there n seen him. Anyways asked him about it n he said its for sale, £150 ... hes KC reg n got papers in the hooose ... ANYWAYS.... regardless of papers the dog was alright looking , not bad condition n my pal who has had lurchers for YEARS looked him over . The guy reckons he was 12 month old, and had done nothing with him yet. My pal said for a gypsy dog to have done feck all at 12 month dont sounds right to him An

The sheath was like this one pictured with a stag on but better condition and was stained a dark brown not black, picture is very similar if not identical though Uploaded with ImageShack.us

It doesn't have " Original Bowie Knife " stamped on it Those things were all over the place, even twenty years ago. I imagine the 'new' anti knife laws saw the back of them. But, yes; I had one. Not a bad feel to them, actually. Considering their price then? I suppose that fifty quid isn't really taking the piss today. It's simply down to whether you want it badly enough ~ considering it'd be purely ornamental. There a total no go when out hunting then isit pal ? ... wouldnt that count as reasonably cause for having a knife ? especially if out stalking deer with rifle ?
