  1. To be honest with you mate I would try to avoid a pup like that! Although it is probally possible to train a pup like that you'd be so much better off with a worker, What if it doesnt go the way you want it to, and then you end up with a dog the family are all attached to, either you'll have to get rid of it to get one that will work as you want or end up with 2 dogs. Just save up for a bit longer and get the right dog for the job
  2. Depends on the lines its from, what do you mean by non working ? Id avoid any time of show spaniel, but a mate of mine has a springer bitch that is just a pet but is from working parents. I would have a pup off him as she is very obedient and hunts very well, she also puts up wild birds when out on walks so even though she is "non working" she is a good worker lol!
  3. She has been hunting before on pheasants and such, but she open put them up in the more open cover! Shes jus very reluctant to enter anything thick, Was thinking about a second dog to keep her company anyway so prob look for a Springer bitch now to go with her
  4. £50 for shotgun certificate. £100 odd for a shotgun safe £100 odd for a shotgun For my first shotgun I payed £50 for a unspecidied double barrel side by side shotgun. Had 25" barrels and look like it was made for bank robbing lol! Depending on what you want you can get a shotgun from £50 or upto £50,000 lol! The one I have atm was about £300. It not bad to get stuck in aswell as theres nothing better than shooting over a dog you have trained yourself to work for you
  5. Got some new permission with alot of rabbits and such on. Really good land but alot of thorns n the such. Took my 1 year old lab bitch down for the first time, She did pick up scent here n there but wasnt very enthusoastic to follow any trials really and was more as if I was taking her for a walk as she kept moving out ahead of me rather than hunt the ground At one point I piterally saw a rabbit in this thorne bush I could have leaned into and prodded with the shotgun barrel, I didnt shoot it as it was a bit unsporting (would have been like shooting a fish in a barrel) I did try to get th
  6. Did you have plans for it mate ? Or just knocked together ? I got some of those galvanised panels at the moment but dont know If I'd be netter with something like this!
  7. applying for a shotgun licence is easy mate and not much trouble, If thats what you want to do then stick an application in! If you just want to work the dog thats no trouble either!
