  1. For that money, go German! Get yourself a Blaser and you'll never regret it!
  2. That's the 2.5 V6 isn't it? Any signs of rust on her?
  3. Davy, bit of diagnostics. Have you got the leads to plug it into a telly? If so, plug it in and see if it's an issue with the CCD, or whether it's just a screen problem. There are people who fix them, but it's often cheaper to buy a replacement off eBay! What model is it?
  4. Andy, I'd disagree that the 90 is the best gas ram. If you can find one (and they're as rare as rocking horse poo) the original Theoben Scirocco is an amazing bit of kit.
  5. The main advantage? Not having to wait 8 months! Phone the plod and tell them you want their reasoning in writing, and a written undertaking that in 8 months they will issue the certificate.
  6. She's registered on Doglost.com Doe. She's down Martock sort of way.
  7. The ND3 is a green laser lamp. They're ok, but a heck of a lot of money for something that can be achieved with a standard torch and a bit of green gel. The red is better because it doesn't take out your night vision as much as white light, and the rabbits see it as different to white light. Now rabbits aren't very good at generalising, so a change of light colour can yield good results, even with seemingly very lamp shy rabbits. Red is also slightly less visible to the rabbit eyesight. The ND3 is a green laser. Now green is around the most visible frequency of light for any mammalian
  8. So let me get this straight. You come on here, shouting abou thow you have been coursing hares (come on, "rabbits with big ears" ain't very subtle) which is illegal. You seem incapable of switching your caps lock off, and also of punctuating the drivel at all. And THEN, you have the temerity to complain when people have a go? Seriously! :wankerzo4:
  9. Write the FEO an email, stating that you require him to put that in writing apper. He's completely wrong, sounds like he's just making it up as he goes along!
  10. Posting this up for my mate whose family pet, a blonde lurcher bitch, went missing 11am yesterday (14th January 2011) It's suspected that she was taken by someone. She is microchipped and so can be readily identified if found. She's a young, quick dog, and very trusting. Do you know anyone who has gained a smallish lurcher? There's a pic below! If you've seen her, or think you might know something about her whereabouts, please PM me. There's a family out there missing their pet! Cheers Matt
  11. Hence "if you can find someone mug enough to buy it" Andy! Anyone who would pay good money for one isn't likely to know how much it's worth!
  12. Scrunch up a bit of aluminium foil and gently rub the rust spots. The rust is softer than the aluminium, but the barrel steel and bluing isn't, so it takes the rust off but doesn't damage the good metal. Then when it's nice and clean, take it round to the person who borrowed it and beat them repeatedly around the head with it for letting a finely tuned piece of kit go rusty! (Ok, don't actually do that, though I'd definitely be having words!)
  13. Once again proving, as most shooters know, that your average FEO knows exactly f##k all about ballistics. I'd say the .17 is a higher risk, as it packs something like three times the energy of the .22LR.
  14. That's another one on the s##t list! Can't believe some of the bargains people come across. Wish I could get some of that luck sometimes!
  15. Good to see you back mate, just remember, when you've hit rock bottom, the only way is up, and we're all here to help any way we can! I'll even have a few beers for you. It'll be tough, but I'm willing to take one for the team! On a serious note, we all missed you, don't go buggering off on us like that again ok!
  16. Every bale of hay and straw at work comes wrapped up in perfect sling making material. I actually plait them and fit them onto spring hooks to use as lead ropes for the horses, but they make perfect slings! I actually use neoprene slings on my rifles, as they are so much more comfortable when carrying the rifle all day as I tend to at work (and they make a nice soft hand cushion when shooting off a fence post or the like!)
  17. No biscuits, gotta watch the old waist mate, can't afford new camo if I outgrow the stuff I have! I'm mired under a pile of regulations and laws at the moment, like trying to wade through treacle, with the setup of the rifle range! Had just about enough of trying to decipher circular references in legal documents, does your head in!
  18. Breast feeding a puppy? They must have removed that one, I can't see it! Which month is it?
  19. Hmmm, interesting take on the word "liberal" there. So you espouse the restriction of peoples ability to carry out perfectly safe practices, and yet you claim to be liberal? Prior to Dunblane and the buggers muddle of legislation that followed it, thousands of people throughout the country quite legally kept, and used, pistols. The level of pistol crime was very low, and legally held weapons were almost never used. Now I'm not saying that Dunblane wasn't tragic, but if the guy hadn't had access to pistols, he could quite easily have done as much damage with a set of kitchen knives

  21. Do you not have an RFD or Gunsmith nearby who might have one? Even if they charge you a tenner to run it over, it's a load cheaper than buying your mate a tank of petrol with prices the way they are. Of course, if you think it might be over, then the gunsmith or RFD might not be such a glowing idea, unless you have a friendly local one who might be able to put it right if it's over without too much fuss. If you were a bit closer I'd offer you mine, but it's a bit of a trek to Swindon from Sussex.
  22. Oh good, yet another unfathomable layer of bureacratic BS to get our heads around! Seriously, the Firearms Act (1968) has been amended so many times, it's like the roadsweepers broom! It's had 43 new heads and 28 new handles, but it's still the original broom! I mean really, go and read the relevant law. I seem to remember the original act has been amended by about 30 different acts. It's amazing any of us can touch a gun without inadvertently committing an offence. Now, the law about minors and air guns. A minor between the age of 14 and 17 can have with them, unsupervised, on lan
  23. Depends on condition, age etc. and the optics, but anywhere between £300 and £450 is a realistic price. Actually, it's worth exactly as much as you are willing to pay for it. And being the Weihrauch it'll outlast you, so you won't have to buy another gun if you don't want to. (You probably will, they're addictive, but you won't actually NEED to!)
  24. As for serial numbers, there's no registration of air guns, so once the gun leaves the factory there's no real way of tracing it. I think the RFD has to record the sale of each air gun, but that information goes to the police, and there's no chance you'll get it out of them. You could try approaching the local police and asking them if an air rifle of the type and serial number has been reported stolen, but most people wouldn't note any air gun serial numbers so again it's unlikely to show up. Now, whether you buy it or not is entirely down to your conscience. If you suspect that i
