  1. seen thousands of rabbits that weren't expecting it! Thousands?,i thought apart from me and Tomo nobody had seen that amount of scutts?. Think again
  2. As morton said, plenty of curs watch /wait/follow what's happening

  4. So these saplings you bought that were shite were they actually from Hancock or some one else who had bought them as young pups? Here's the thing to me, if someone hasn't got much of a clue with dogs, it could be from the best blood and the best breeder in the world, they'd still not make much of the dog. PLENTY of these type of people about, and yes, I include myself to a certain point when first starting out, but, some people never learn
  5. I've kept lurchers for close to forty years, none of em directly from Hancock, and most of those were shite too!
  6. @ sailor30 and gibbo1973, why do you not still run deer/greys? These and deer/grey x collie/grey are my preferred types
  7. I really don't see the problem with getting a pup from Hancock, at least you're not being fleeced of £7-900 for a jackuhuahua or puglington or some other utterly ludicrous crossbred piece of uselessness, which there are plenty of people up and down the country breeding! Maybe not on the same scale as Hancock, but breeding enough litters to make themselves a very comfortable sum! I've not bought a dog from there myself, but had one years ago that Taffy was the sire to, I took PLENTY of hares and deer with him, he was very fast and powerful, fabulous dog. Two of my mates bought dogs directly o
  8. ffs God no horrible snipey nosed, whinnying fuuckers They look ok and more than a tad useful to me lol
  9. Not telling anyone how to keep their dogs, but would NEVER kennel dogs together, or even leave them in the same room in the house unsupervised.
  10. I agree with alot of what you say, and wouldn't advocate breeding off small, thin, weak or old stock etc, but physically and mentally sound animals, and while I agree that it's certainly easier to guage the parents, grandparents etc through their soundness in the field, I don't feel it's necessary that the dog you might take on 'needs' to come from working parents. Hope that makes sense
  11. Worker to worker means feck all, apart from the fact that both parents were worked. It doesn't follow that all the pups will, or even be suitable for work. Plenty of working/coursing/racing champions etc in both dogs and horses, bred from parents which have never worked, coursed or raced prove it If you just want a few rabbits and you just buy in all your dogs thats fine, but if you want the line to go on then you need to get the best rootstock from the beginning, not a quick fix from the lurcher supermarket (hancocks) Theres a dog on here owned by BIRD I think. Thats a proper collie/grey
  12. Not looked at the link, but what desertbred said is spot on, and going by the actions of many lurcher owners over the last 10 years or so, I fear the worst for terrier, and more specifically lurcherwork
  13. That's partly my point, there are plenty of very good 1st x's of ALL types bred from parents which have never seen any live game, never mind been worked!

  15. Or that he's aware that there are far too many muppets that 'do' have money, and he doesn't want his pups ending up with one of these muppets. Not such an odd ad/post really
  16. Getting a bit of shape about em now gaf, mind they don't get too tall! lol
  17. how many past dogs have you had mate? it's not a dig i'm just wandering how many you had that would take anything or do all that what your saying atb at I believe him, plenty of people on here own such dogs
  18. Anyway, back to salukixgrey's question, collie/grey x deer/grey do all you want, and more, on the lamp , oooh pardon me, PRE BAN!
  19. I run two dogs aswell mate both off the lead walking free and it's easier to teach them to wait quietly when they have been out on their own and done a bit and understand what the game is about ... Now stop arguing with me or I will snap your stick .......... sounds like smithy has sabotaged it already Who the fcuk is smithy!? lol. Anyway, I know most people have their own way of starting a young dog off, but surely getting a youngster to listen, and learn, is far easier if it's on it's own with you and no other dogs or people tagging along, as the pup will mess around simply becau
  20. Spot on sir . Other dogs around when you're starting a youngster off is a pain in the cnut, needless hassle
  21. I dunno, both dogs look in great nick, and the dog'll probably get a fairly regular sexual encounter! Assuming that he'll proably be used on more than just that particular bitch Lol
  22. Don't think it's such a 'one off' or different litter than what's been bred pretty regularly for about the last 20 odd years, track dog bred to a shit bull type. Just the internet has made things easier for a lot of people to breed and advertise such shit. Don't think I'll be putting my name down for one anytime soon
  23. Don't care how well anyone 'thinks' they know their dogs, I certainly wouldn't be leaving any of my dogs, adults or pups, loose around any staff, even supervised, Tragedy in the blink of an eye is very very possible with these dogs
