  1. If you want a flash bit of kit, try a bsa or hw to your budget. If you are on a budget try a out of the box Hatsan striker ,for £120 ish in 22 they are a real bargain with plenty of ooooooooph ! same as a rifle twice if not more the cost. A bud recently bought one for back yard rubbish removal, magpies etc, as they were killing his song birds & causing havock. With a little tweek it pushes bisley mags well http://www.theguncabinet.co.uk/breakbarrel-airrifles/hatsan-striker-1000/a2757/
  2. Have a look at both, view angles will differ, as will the clarity. For the £'s i chance the BSA is better.
  3. if your comfertable with it, it adjusts, you can get it clear & focused it will do the job. I have used 4x40 for everything from magpies on a airrifle to a 303 stalking rifle, without a mod with great success. Far too much snobbery on scopes ' i have this & that crew ' etc. If it is collecting fresh air around it, its cool. If its dust ............ its wasted !
  4. http://www.sierrabullets.com/index.cfm?section=bullets&page=rifle&caliberID=4 243 has good selection of bullet weights too. 55/105 , ideal for smaller Roe & fox.
  5. It can be a combination of items, heavy gun, cheep carts, shoulder fit , eye sight ..Use half descent quality carts , cheep stuff patterns badly (what I have tried) & will not help you confidence, A heavy older gun will make you ache & the muscles tension wrong, A non comfortable shoulder fit will alter all your shots & try one eye closed , both open on a target 30/35 yds back . When movement is a target shoot a good yard in front the direction of travel. stand well balanced. If you can eliminate all the niggles , relax & enjoy, don't shoot too far out ! I seen lads trying
  6. it well upto the job for a base scope, with good clarity ,I have one on a 30 cal , a bud was throwing out & its great to 150yds.
  7. Bargain Burris scopes can be had, if you web gaze around £300/350. Other wise as the chap ( fenlandfieldsports ) above said, get what you want in mag, check the scope 7 good ones can be had under £100.
  8. Get some varied mineral licks in for them, or dig a pit with salts etc, The heads & health will improve dramatically.
  9. here yas go . http://www.basc.org.uk/en/departments/deer-management/trophy-measuring/
  10. Shark nordstorm , both jacket & trousers are the best I have used, if youre lucky enough to find any new or s/h grab them !. http://www.sharkgroup.co.uk/country_nordstrom.html
  11. I had the Brocock super 6 in .22cal , what a rifle ! for the price they are No1 in my book, & I have had various brands & models, if you want a good hunting or target rifle without the rapid 7 price tag & as almost good , super 6 , I would recommend
  12. Letters are the norm with ' Royal mail '. For anything larger I use parcel monkey, they are efficient & half ,if not less on cost.
  13. if you have loads , like couple hundred lb's, we find the best long term store a ICB tank, cut the top off approx. 10" down ,turn the top over , it can be used as a funnel too. throw all the feeder surplus in, pop the top back on , over lapping the original tank.. fit the lid & you can move it anywhere, stays dry & easy to get out what quantity you like.
  14. It will be worth it, we take them for granted . try popping the drop in the corner of your eye , rather than in it .
  15. I use several mods ase/ dm80 & reload accordingly to distance & animal weight, with certain cals . Why reload for 1000yds+ shot round when only shooting upto 200yds ?? It makes a significant noise reduction also.
  16. A shot fee is more than just a shot 'fee'. Some stalker guides have a built in cost , others allow for novices. 1- It assures the paid stalker no shot present , no fee unless comfortable with the zone etc ! A £'s saving 2 - More alertness / pressure is on the guide to point them in the right direction, for success .(After all most clients on the stalk don't know the grounds & some wouldn't have a clue let alone spot a shot, or even take the wrong deer with extra £££'s to pay possibly !) 3 - Assures the guide, care is taken to drop the shot , more accurately within the paid hunters
  17. Try some BSA's on that site, they match bino's £200+ & under £50 !! next few game shows/events due, have a look at one of the stands.Take your time & exploit the occasion
  18. Try a franchi end cap, sling swivel attached or fit one to yours. A little hole in the end & standard rifle swivel & screw in attachment, trimmed & riveted on the inside may do the trick.
  19. he must do good tailoring, & you're a well dressed fella.
