  1. pen+strep, licenced for livestock but work out the weight of your dog first, also would recommend giving dog tablespoon of live yoghurt every day for a few days during and after antibiotics as they take a lot out of a dog + can be prone to other secondary problems due to low immunity as a result of the infection
  2. its called a private party
  3. lol he will be off to a shelter for battered husbands if you do that. your hubby sounds just like me at times i used to come home with alsorts of beasties, still do, going to drop a cage back to a mate next weekend, problem is i'll probably end up buying more fowl off him lol

  5. aggresion towards another smaller dog dont mean feck all as far as taking quarry goes. quite a few lurchers have a dislike of terriers and also pups, i had one once, the one i have now is fine
  6. about 20euro a week for my lot, fair few of them though
  7. I've just had a hutch of guinea pigs here for a week while their owner was on hols. Boy were they boring things compared to ferret antics. Do it Gem, ferts are waaay more interesting there like a little village of squeeky demanding little things, but they dont serve any perpose so i may as well sell them, my next problem is how to build a concrete base without moving the exsisting structure as its very big + heavy, took a tractor to lift it when i moved it the last time, i'll have to go over it carefully as well to make certain its ferret proof.
  8. im thinking of turning my chicken shed thats currently houseing guineapigs and tumbler pigeons into a ferret court, just have to put a concrete floor in and sell off its current occupants.
  9. i use a old thin dog collar to hold the nets together through the loop at the end opposite to the drawstring, can hang them up that way too.
  10. Do the vets not date the certificates mate ? , ive recently acquired a pup from Ireland and there is no paper work - i dont think there is any law preventing/stopping docking over there (eire) is there ? no, but id keep their address + phone number + see if you could get the number of their vet if possible just to cover your back if you were asked to show certificate. You can do your own docking in eire carnt u Carraghsgem , no needing a vet at all ? not legally no, most do it themselves though. never heard of anyone pulled on it either.

  13. if your not sure about him i'll take him off your hands
  14. not fish related but same issue, read in newspaper that foreign nationals were killing swans + waterfowl, bout 6/7years ago in uk, just a culture difference, they do it over there so they think they can do it here, british + irish have done faux pas in foreign countrys too, remember the unmarried couple kissing or was it having sex? on a beach in dubai, just a case with many that they dont know the rules are different, in some cases though they just dont give a f**k.
  15. thats a guinea fowl, common enough, kept as a domesticated fowl in the uk, ive reared a few for the table myself, taste like a delicately flavoured chicken, if youve a decent butcher he should be able to get you one, if not they cost between 7-10stg each, live in general at poultry sales.
  16. one year about 5yrs ago we had a population explosion of wasps here, i got stung and wasps usually leave me alone, my dad was stung bout 20times but he does hate them with a passion, dogs, horses + a cat got stung as well, never seen owt like it, i made a wasp trap in a large coke bottle with cola, jam, fizzy orange + 2wks later i went to look at the trap, it was 3/4 full of dead, dying + a few live wasps, needless to say i made another trap + put the lid on the other one, hated wasps myself ever since, antihistamines are always kept nearby in case of any insect sting or allergic reaction in m
  17. welcome to thl, at the end of the day it shouldnt matter what we think about your dog, as long as the dog suits you and does the job you want our opinion is irrelivant. when it comes to your dog its your opinion that matters. atb, gem

  19. now theres a disturbing mental image
  20. Without wishing to bring too much reality to your happy rantings the vaccination would be a much cheaper option as the vaccine is taken orally and can be left out on bait for the badgers. Culling is hardly a cheap option either and there is no conclusive proof, despite tests being done that it has any effect on TB rates in cattle. The cheapest option is to cull the infected cattle, they are easy to find after all, and have better control over the movements of cattle around the country. Culling could be free if there werent a law against diggin them! cheap and practical to fckn
