From what he told me he was falling on the dogs[still on the lead] and tried to shove himself away from them,thats why he broke it,all he cared about were the dogs,a couple had found him and he wouldnt let them call an ambulance until i got there to collect them.

I got a phonecall from Dell on sunday morning,he had fell down an embankment on our local golfcourse and thought his ankle was broken,i got over there asap and sure enough it was smashed[not pretty] hes in hospital and its a plate and pins job,hes off his feet for a few months,i know he talks to a few lads on here just thought i would let everyone know in case anyones expecting a reply,he should be back at the weekend.

He never pulled any trees up with those dogs himself though did he Dell? Genuine lads got hold of them and worked/bred them to produce very good terriers,ironic that when he left Wales and came here he had the best terriers he ever owned and then spent 35 yrs making a bollocks of breeding "superior terriers" [his words] complete bullshitter but entertaining books.

A mate had a Cairn type years ago,caught loads of rabbits because he could fly down the runs being short,worked to ground a bit as well,keen little worker all round.

FTB Maybe not every single shooter is against lurchers,i know people who do both,but the vast majority of shooters are against lurchers/coursing,i know people who are having massive hare shoots at the moment and its just to curb coursing on their land,if they supported fellow sportsmen[who do no damage]why not just turn a blind eye,or go one further and liase with lurcher lads? I would say a mixture of beddy/grey x collie/grey with maybe a touch of deerhound Think that bitch of yours still holds the record mate,night time,the other bitch definatly holds the daytime,some proper idiots on here. -

Of course there were white dogs in Devon but they were russells,unless you are insinuating they were fells? Heinemanns russell blood went into some fells hence the odd throwback "white" theres some camps that beleive Heinemann got his russels from parson Russell,but its unlikely as he was only 15 when Russell died,what is very likely is Heinamanns dogs carried the genes of Russells dogs. Stig Lakelands with russell added,not a bad idea at all,makes sense to me,but nothing to do with the original white lakies,its like saying the deerhound x great danes paraded round today as "Irish Wolfhounds" are the genuine article. A good few lads round this way had/have the lines capable of producing the originals,ive seen a lot of terriers from these lines and bred from them,the whites dont appear that often,if you are regularly producing whites its because theres more russell in them,where do yours originate if you dont mind telling? The "white lakelands" are all Russell x lakelands in reality,the difference is the genuine white lakies came from certain lines only,a few pratts have emulated this by adding russell blood but they arent the same dogs at all,mostly done for profit and to cash in on the "folklore" aspect of things. White bodied dogs were thought weak,and possibly the original originators of the Lakeland didnt want white dogs so culled,when the russell blood originally went in if an equal amount of white and coloured pups had been bred on the Lakeland as we know it would be a different colour possibly a diff

Just how i look at it but fell is all of them,as in "fell terriers" a Lakelands genrally have rough coats and patterdales originated by breeding bull blood into Lakelands,although some will deny this.
