    Dells the lurcherman FH,im just a messer compared to him. Nobody was running beddy x's down,you might not have noticed but weve got a few,Dells beddy/collie hybrids werent 2 half x's put together,but beddy/collie figured heavily in their makeup,before saluki came onto the scene in a big way these dogs could hold their own with anything around at the time,theyre very well respected dogs in our area,if you think any beddy/grey derivative could compete with these you would be wrong mate,lamping maybe,but allround not a prayer,Dells old bitch Lady still hold the nightime records round here aft

    thats a good point ,know of a few been lost in bad places when bushing,when we were kids and unable to keep many dogs all the streets pet dogs went rabbiting we had a right pack all shapes,but they all took to it to some degree. Same as mate,as Dell says back in our day we took anything and tried it,some of the best ive seen had a touch of collie/lab,and whippet x terriers were rated highly by some.

    You can waste a lot of time digging a terrier that gets in to rabbits,loads of terriers come to a sticky end getting to ground on rabbits,theres a big difference between having a terrier on the lead and picking where you put it in,and a free running terrrier doing what it likes,and it will like to follow rabbits into a hole even if it wont work fox,guaranteed. Spaniel/whippet terrier/whippet spaniel[got one ordered myself]anything but a terrier for me.     That river looks a picture,reminds me of parts of the Idle we fish over here. Ive used the garlic meat myself and had some good results on it,especially in coloured water,i make my own,i cut round sections out with an apple corer and then lightly fry in garlic flavour,or soak for a few days in garlic flavoured olive oil with added fresh crushed garlic,both work a treat,but lightly frying "skins" the meat and makes it a bit tougher for casting.     I really like these small russells,hard to breed small dogs with that kind of conformation,maybe a bit light small for heavy duty work but ive seen these sized dogs come in very handy at times.Any idea of the breeding?
