    Just got in from a walk with the terriers and catty. All the ground seems to be real wet again, so everything was in or around water. With the cover high and an empty freezer, the first kill was a dove,nice clean head shot, which fell in the water and was half retrieved by my russel which is a first and I was well happy, until she lost interest half way back so then pat went in for it. Next was a drake looking really sorry for himself, again nice clean head shot stopped him dead. This time the pat didnt fancy it, but the russel did. not quite a retreive but she dragged it to dry land on the

    You can only catch whats in front of you. Find the fish and your almost there. Also, Im not a fan of doing this, but have a chat with the other lads, see what they are using, but be prepared for lies. I never tell anyone but the 2 or 3 lads I fish with as most of the time we`re all on the same bait any how. Have you tried pva bags or method feeder? They are usually a good start as you will pick all types of fish of all sizes, just tailor the size of your hook bait.

    Yeah, I noticed yours is an old wound, with a fresh one over the top. Sore, sore, sore.. My chippy mate lumped his finger with a hammer and the Dr sliced open the end, under the nail. I`m guessing like yourself, it was to release pressure.

    Lol. Not nice, my mate done his Wednesday in my yard. Strong cider and cattys dont mix.. Premium 7mm elastic and 12mm lead Being drunk he just put a plaster on it only to wake up in agony at 3am cos it had swelled up so much. The nail has gone black now too

    Not too bad if you get a mellow one. All the pet russels Ive known have all had some sort of mental problem, Mine included. I cant take mine for a 8 mile stomp, off lead, she will work cover all day, get torn and ripped ears, nettle stung to f**k, follow deer scent over the horizon and still 20 minutes after getting in, will want to play fetch incessantly, right pain in the arse sometimes with her yapping too. Hectic is an understatment, but shes also very highly strung some days. But, for all her faults, I wouldnt part with her, for starters shes got a much better nose than my pat.

    Cobwebs. If the holes are webbed up, its a fair indicator that nowt has passed through there at least in the past few hours.
