Like longdog said - being kept around each other really helps, they get used to each other moving about, their smell and sound. Obviosuly you cant keep them 'together' but they can be caged next to each other etc. Also they should be introduced in a safe space . . . . taking the dog to the ferrets cage , , , , watch what it does and reward/reprimand it accordingly. The problem is the dog mainly, i introduced three ferrets, 1 8mnth and 2 2yrs to dogs recently when out ferreting and they pretty much ignored them. A dog however that has not met a ferret may lunge out of instinct.
