  1. Yer i had thought of just keeping it and having a spare box but i'm a bit short of cash at the moment. I may just sell it for what i got it for as a whole set. Basiclly i hit the 'buy' button on the website twice Cheers, Jai.
  2. I have a spare Mrk3 with collar still in plastic pack, just wondered if i should sell it like that or just box and keep collar, because i will no doubt be buying more collars in the future. I dont want to rip anyone off though, obviously. cheers, Jai.
  3. well i no its true or i wouldnt say it would i??? im not talking about your average dog here im talking about getting the best of the best to run on out of a litter ive seen loads of terriers do this and become excellent workers how many times do i have to say it! proper terriers are born to it and its there from an early age if your clever enough to see it. i once had a fox in a trap and was passing the pig shed where my dogs were so i called in to check on them. anyway i was cleaning the pups that were now 10 weeks old and i accidently stood on a dog pups toe and the poor little fella was go
  4. Would you pay £100 for a brand new unused mk3 box, no collar? atb Jai.
  5. there is a dealer called jo king ,he payes £5 each in the skin ,
  6. Fair dos then matey. If i was you i wouldnt be able to resist trying her out a couple of times. Just make sure you use a collar and its in a nice small shallow set. Dont expect wonders from the ferret tho - and if she doesn't bolt them PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE dont write her off, shes only a babe and going in at the deep end! I like to start mine off early sept - bunnies usually come out like rockets, but i've still had to dig to nests. jai.
  7. Why are Hares being considered a pest here? They actually do very little damage unless in HUGE numbers which doesnt really happen these days. I used to live in eastern and central europe where there were many many hares but in places no rabbits. Very little damage to crops was done. The reason for this is hares graze over a large area, picking at food so they have little impact on grass land or crops. Rabbits however move and eat, moving out from one point, so therefore are able to strip land. You can kill a hare with an air gun. But i dont really see the point, go find a rabbit instead -
  8. Lots of litter wastage but with the odd very good pup thrown in! Jai.
  9. Right 3-3.50 sounds good. Currently getting 1.50-2.00. SO does anyone know of a game dealer in south wales or in the bristol area who gives better than 1.50? Cheers, Jai.
  10. I would NEVER EVER use a muzzle. If the ferret gets lost - it dies as it cannot eat. Also if the ferret meets a rat etc, its proper f*cked. Would you like to go hunting / fighting with your hands tied behind your back? Ferrets are hunting animals, they kill if they can, its our job to manage that through either accepting it and diging to them or not ferreting during the summer. atb Jai.
  11. Sorry to hear about your loss matey.
  12. I just saw three go past my window heading for the ferret court. They were driving a tank
  13. You could try it on some small sets if you were desperate but be prepared for long waits and possible digs In general i would advise not as its not such a great experiance for a ferret to start off with. If your up in the highlands you might be ok tho! atb Jai.
  14. If your doing pest control over the summer you better start doing some weights. Plenty of digging to be done. :showoff:
  15. Like longdog said - being kept around each other really helps, they get used to each other moving about, their smell and sound. Obviosuly you cant keep them 'together' but they can be caged next to each other etc. Also they should be introduced in a safe space . . . . taking the dog to the ferrets cage , , , , watch what it does and reward/reprimand it accordingly. The problem is the dog mainly, i introduced three ferrets, 1 8mnth and 2 2yrs to dogs recently when out ferreting and they pretty much ignored them. A dog however that has not met a ferret may lunge out of instinct. The key
  16. Ok . . . mine get a long list of different things i've, shot, trapped etc the main one obviously being rabbit. They get the livers, hearts etc when i am gutting and then i hang half a rabbit with skin in the cage every couple of days and they strip it to bone and fur. They particularly love the eyes! They also get dried ferret food sometimes and i feed them an egg of two every so often. They also get a selection of fruit, their favorite being banana. When i feed them dried food i usually add a good measure of feretone. They seem to thrive on this diet and are well muscled, thick coated an
  17. No worries matey - glad to help! I have never met Stubby but from what i hear hes a true legend and a very nice man! atb Jai.
  18. Yer he looks older - due to the grey muzzle. Some dogs have that though. I would say - Collie/Deer/Grey rather than Saluki but could be anything. Where did you rescue him from - if hes taken a fox already he obviously has been worked before. atb Jai.
  19. Hahaha . . . . yer i know the story! I'll travel anywhere for good ferrets! Did almost 300 miles round trip the other day! Too many idiots about mate . . . . it's sad! First name terms it is - i'm jai. I can see a Bromance blooming! Let me know if you do breed, or if your in the South, your welcome to come out with us, we;ve got 1000s or acres. atb Jai.
  20. . . . . . i feel bad - i've been telling my stinkers that for years . . . .
  21. You can carry more snares and they are quicker to set. Simple. Unless you meant a rabbit drop box? atb Jai.
  22. Yer mate i'm very very miserable as well! Just ask my girlfriend!
