    If you get the right one, they are as tough and muscular as many dogs, pound for pound. Mine is certainly less 'frail' sometimes than some sal x's. And i run him on some land that would break many dogs to pieces.

    Stoats and weasels are part of the Mustelidae family, as are otters/badgers/martens/polecats/minks & black footed ferrets and of course our domesticated ferrets, even mongoose and meercats are related. (other species may also be included!) Point is, the dietary requirements of each species (although related) may be different.     Strange as it may sound I've always found the opposite [eating less in summer]. I would've thought they'd have needed more during the winter when it's colder and they're working but it's not the case with mine. Can only put it down to the fact that with more daylight they become a lot more active whereas in the winter they seem to spend all their time sleeping.     Stick to yer fishin you !!! lol You know that my ferrets are fed a mix of meat and dry, and are in top condition, so dry has it`s place. Any one who buys in boxes of minced barf is doing the same as someone who buys in dry. Using a ready made feed for the ferrets..     On a serious note, during the working season (winter), my lot fire through a whole rabbit in a sitting leaving only the jacket, or a whole phesant, it's great to watch it all go so rapidly. They eat less in summer, due to doing a lot less physical work, and not having to keep warm.

I do know that the average wage now is falling year by year, so perhaps its HAS dropped by that much in a couple of years, but seems a lot. Either way, my point was, that while 14k for a house might seem like a walk in the park compared to 150 k a house, its bollocks due to the rising nature of wages. That make sense?
