  2. You judge a man having never met him. This statement alone tells other so much about the caliber of man you are. If you read what i wrote it might help. I'm just surprised by some of the really positive comments about him as i got the impression that the commonly held perception of him was negative, a guy just out for a name etc. But like i said, i've not met the guy, so i don't know shit about him other than what written on here, and hence it isn't my place to judge or care. Brookie - thanks for the offer mate and i would, but i have birds to look after everyday and there
  3. No, in general, he knows the difference, although, for the first cuple of runs, if it goes into cover, he will try to follow it etc.
  4. I thought it was commonly accepted that DG was an arse??? Never met him, but everything seems to point that way. Just another guy out for a name and some fame.

I think it's the latter mate to be honest. At least a do gooder would be doing it based on moral principles and beliefs. The latter is just a c**t!

  7. Aye matt, that looks brilliant, if there is ever an invite going spare, i'd be keen to see how the whippet handled rats in bulk
  8. 3 dogs, couple of unwanted fecking cats (feral), chickens, quail, pheasants, partridge, ducks, 3 glouchester old spot pigs, fish, . . . . soon to add some geese and sheep. Edited as i forgot the 9 ferrets haha.
  9. Remember when chase and status were starting out, we had them play for us, nice enough lads. I'm on the beers so -

    Ratting

Hello, I'm keen to do a bit of ratting, with the whippet. I have some places where there are rats, not huge numbers but a few, enough maybe, but don't have a smoker. Really, looking for someone with a decent spot, to take me out. Can happily swap it for a bit of ferreting, or some rough shooting etc.

  12. She thinks she is her kit, it's just hormones mate. Some jills are bad for it, i have one old poley that does it to all the others in her court every year. Don't worry, it will pass.
  13. Well, i'd say some dogs are just like that. Mine is good as gold in the house, yard and on dead ground. But the pull of game is just too strong, he will go off on it, but always return, as soon as he is done, and ive accepted thats just how he is. He hunts like feck and for that i cant knock him.
  14. Jigsaw, im not being funny mate, but i'm not sure with all of the detterents in the world, them fuckers are going to stop until either they have your dogs or something very bad has happened to them. Hell of a situation mate. Is there no one you could call or inform who would be able to sort it out. I thought ireland was full of bally wearing, machine gun toteing, rambo, mother fuckers?

  16. And destroy any retrieving ability EITHER dog may have !!!! Cheers. yea but would get it killing.and if you let her do it once or twice wont ruin her retreiving Out of interest why does a rabbit dog need to kill?
  17. The mad little baastard flushed a boar lol.
  18. Johnny - if only Gem was younger, it'd be fecking great to see what came out of that pairing. Be some powerful dogs. Del - Cheers mate, he certainly isn't a typical shivery little whippet.
  19. Tomo - Don't think johnnyboy would let me Think he's afraid folk will think he's gay if he has a whippet x Jamie - My thoughts are that using a good sized whippet over a decent sized collie / grey, wouldnt lose too much in terms of height, and also i know that all of the ingrediants on the whippet side of things would be working stock. Also i don't need a dog much over 23 ". I suppose i'm also looking at what i could add to my whippet rather than to a collie x. If that makes sense? Owen, will Pm now mate.
  20. Aye Jamie, i could well be badgering you in a couple of years mate

seen the same tonight from my place hate seeing lampers out this time of year and when there lamping spots that i would do makes it worse

  22. Cheers for all of the replies lads. Red - I've seen some cracking lurchers with whippet in them, and various collie/whippet/greys, but just wondered about this specific breeding. Also, i have what i would class as a good working whippet here, and you dont see many working greys, so i was interested in seeing what it would produce in comparisson to say a 3/4 grey 1/4 collie, from a non working grey. Sirius - Im planning on using my whippet dog (if i do ever do this) and so half whippet is the way it goes, but who knows, if decent, it could be the basis for a further breeding down the li
  23. Shes a pup mate, you have to remember that while you kind of know whats going on, she doesnt really, so its natural she makes a few mistakes, i've seen young dogs, be shocked by the squeel and drop the thing, etc. When my lad was young, he would run them and try to kick them over, rather than grab them with his mouth. It will click eventually. As said as well, golf course bunnys are the hardest going.
